Hi.

I have scoured the internet bright and clean through and through for a review from users of the the 'Made In Nigeria' Gravity Z1 from the AfriOne company. All I have gotten so far from Tech dedicated Blogs, YouTube, and other strange Google provided links are just basically specifications and price range (which aren't bad at all), un-boxing videos, and what I like to call 'Blind Reviews'.

It almost feels like no one's bought it for use, or perhaps they just are enjoying it so much they rarely have the time to put up a review online (insert sarcasm word here).

I, therefore, have to use a last resort I have in my virtual arsenal, Nairaland. By 'User Review' I mean tell me if the battery actually lives up to its 3000maH it packs, if it heats up easily, how frequently it freezes if at all and related layman gist.

If you have used this phone in the limelight of this post, or have had a friend, family, colleague, close associate (include Bae in this category), or friend of friend who have, please kindly give a 'User Review'.

I cashed in on Slot black Friday deal and pd for Nokia 2 @ N16k. But they later called that they ve run out of stock of Nokia 2 but that I can go for Afrione Gravity Z1. I now searched on the net to see if I can get reviews from users on the phone. The very little information I got was not enough for me to make a conclusive decision. But one or two Tech Gurus I called advised me to go for it and that since they have a service centre as well as their factory here, they will be in a good position to provide After Sales service if needed. I m waiting for the delivery From Slot.

I got the phone yesterday @ slot osogbo. The phone is okay.
When I inserted d battery n try to on it, it did not on so I was told to charge d battery meaning d battery is completely drained.
I think d phone is on fast charge because first charge was full 100% within 30min. I used it continuously for 3 hours then recharge d battery this time it took 90mins to reach 100%.
So far so good, no complain for now. Both front n back camera OK. No lagging or overheating.

be careful with that phone...when it gets hot,it goes off...careful with the screen it breaks easily....like extremely....when u misplace your follow come charger another problem....the point is the phone serious issues

Is this ur experience with the phone or with somebody who has used it? What do u mean by that it goes off when hot? Is it when u re charging it? So can u explicitly explain ur experience with d phone for us to know? Thanks

not when youre charging it....when youre using it browsing,chatting if it gets hot,it just goes off...

I don't know about durability but the specs are good for 16K.

I had a hands on with the phone some months ago, the display is very reminiscent of the Tecno M7 from way back, the default skin is from the old android Kitkat icons even though it's running on Marshmallow, the colors are a bit on the cool side(i'm not sure whether it was faded because the screen of the one i saw was really scratched or that's how it comes. Lastly, huge black bars(Like the Infinix Note 2) I hate those.

Design wise, the phone is really light in the hand. The one i saw was grey but it was more like a faded black dual tone plastic body. Dual tone as in the color of the front doesn't match the back and sides, if i remember correctly. The white and gold one prolly looks nicer(going by pictures/videos)

The camera is nothing to write home about, everyone would know you're using a very low budget phone on social media.

In conclusion, i wanted to like something about this phone because it's "made in Nigeria" but for the price point(30K+), i didn't have anything good to say about it. It even looks A LOT cheaper than the Itel 1505 i got for someone as a gift.

I think you should probably hold out for the Gravity Z2 if you must buy a "Nigerian made" phone, they might get it right the second time.

Got the phone today from Slot. They have gone back to their previous price of N32k. Opened it, put the SIM card and charged it. So far so good. No problem of lagging. Every thing so far is working seamlessly.

As of today I am still awaiting my order. You are in Lagos right? I don't know why it is taking them so long to get the goods down to Ibadan.

Trust me bro, they still haven't delivered. I am ready for them tomorrow. I don load my phone up with credit, God help the customer service person whey go pick my call. I really don't know what's keeping them so long.

I got my for 25k at computer Village. For now everything on the phone is working fine. What I love the most is the game, cos I love playing games and the video as well. The back is okay and the front camera is quite cool as well. But in my area my network Internet service is not that strong I only get to enjoy the Internet service at night with mtn and glo

Please my screen just goes blank when on a call. And won't come on until I take the battery out. Has anyone experienced this and any solution.plss. its so frustrating...

I have actually been using the Gravity Z1 for some time now and at first, it was working well but suddenly it would seize up and after some time it would say "System UI has stopped". This occurs whenever I turn on data or wifi. In some cases it would just restart itself and cancel everything I was doing.
Secondly, I personally don't like the launcher so I downloaded one.

I've been using the phone for a year now... And the problems were just bad battery (not up to 3000 mah they said it is), over heating and poor camera.

I was cool with it as it was just my side-phone. But then 2 days ago, the screen broke beyond repair. I thought it was gonna be easy to get a new one so i went to repair centers here in Port Harcourt and looked for it.

Its over 4 days now and i haven't found any center that has the screen. Most of them dont even know the phone. And now, i have realised it was worth more than a side-phone.

I need answers. Anybody.
Where can i get the screen for the phone.. I stay at Port Harcourt. Thanks
