The #EndSars campaign going on recently is of course something to debate.


I will share my personal experience with the SARS operatives...


I can't really recall the date it was sometime around June 2015, I was travelling due north, Mokwa Niger state to be precise. we had barely passed RCCG camp when we met this guy's (SARS) mounted there normal road block, they asked what we have in the truck and I answered them. one of them told me to keep quiet and allow the driver talk to them, it was the driver that later told them I am the owner of the goods and if they will even give them anything, I will be the one to give, not him nor the 'motorboy'. They turned to me and asked ' anything to drink pure water'. I answered ' nothing oga, I am working for a company too, but abeg manage this small change from my own pocket'.. That was how I gave 'em 100 naira and we continued our journey.

we had just moved on a good speed for barely 5minutes, and maybe some kilometres to Sagamu interchange when we saw a big luxurious bus been used to block the road, at first we thought it was an accident and before we knew it, we started hearing gunshots....
My driver tried turning back but it was late, we are already in for it. They marched us down and gave us some beating before even asking us anything. They started from the driver, demanding his phone and money. he gave his phone and pointed to me that the money is with me. They pounced on me and demanded I hand over the money on me, meanwhile all I had on me was just 5000naira or so... I told them I don't have money and that I am not given any money but only to lead and deliver the goods.
They were still suggesting what to do with me while one suggested they hack me with cutlass when we started hearing sporadic shots from nowhere....

I still remember hearing one shouting " ojo, ojo" and the took to their heels.
The SARS we met on the road saved our lives.

The police gave them a hot pursuit and we later found our way out of there that day. It was actually an experience I won't forget easily.

If was hacked that day, im sure to remember the marks till date, if I'm lucky not to be dead.


I think instead of the #EndSars trending now, why not #EndSarsBrutality or #EndSarsInhumanity

If sars be scrapped today, im sure many atrocities will be on the rise. In as much as some of them (SARS) are just inhumane and crazy, some are also diligently exciting their job safe guarding properties and lives.

I can never forget my viewing center invaded by this SARS officers, for no reason we were searched and when nothing was discovered all my customers were taken to their headquaters with a detain write up referring to us as gang of thieves as if that was not even. enough i was forced to load my properties into their hilux, beeing followed with men with guns and koboko like a thief . we bailed ourselves with. #10,000 each. what was our offence? We were watching. ball during working hour on a sturday by 1:45pm
