There are certain criteria to be observed by students before being admitted to study in any of the courses in any university. One of these which include meeting the required cut of mark for each schools as well as the courses itself. It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut off mark for the admission into a particular course.

Cut off mark is an agreed score set by a particular institution as a basic of admitting students into the department of study. This score is usually accredited to candidates based on their performance in a particular examination. However, students who have scored above the required cut off mark will be given admission and preferentially treated in admission process above those who have met the exacts cut off mark.

Following the scrapping out of post UTME by the federal government, the Joints Admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) had given a bench mark of 180 and above for candidates applying for Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education. Hitherto, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University has follow suit in the 180 general cut of mark of JAMB.

Candidates with higher scores are first considered; in admission basics, candidates with lower scores though might meet the cut off mark of 180 may likely not be admitted. In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University does not really have a specific cut off mark for courses. However, candidates who have scored a minimum of one 180 in UTME examination is eligible to apply for admission into any of their choice courses.

Due to the high number of students wishing to study in the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the admission processes is competitive and an admission is given based on JAMB score and O level grades.

Below are courses offered in the university as well as their cut off mark;

220 – 240 – Medicine (O’ Level result with one sitting only) and Nursing
200 – Mass Communication, Common Law, Pharmacy, Anatomy, Physiology
190 – Computer Science, English Language, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Geology, all engineering courses except Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering.
180 – All other courses

This is the official Nnamdi Azikwe University – UNIZIK JAMB cut off mark and Departmental marks for 2017/2018 admission.


You should be aware, that if you scored above 200 in the just concluded jamb 2017 CBT examination and you wish to
partake in the school’s POST UTME examination, then get prepared.

However, for students who did score below 200, but not less than 180, don’t loose hope of getting admission into Unizik yet, because there’s some unconfirmed news, that the management board of the Nnamdi Azikwe University has reduced their official cut off mark this year to 180, which was normally 200 and above.

However, the 180 cut off mark, is for courses which are less competitive. For courses like Medicine, Law, and some departments in Engineering, the cut off mark is still 200 and above.

One of the easier method to scoring high in Unizik post utme examination is reading the school’s past questions and answers. One of your major concern now, should be on how to read and answer the UNIZIK past questions and answer.

It’s was really hectic during the 2016 unizik post utme examination, as some UNIZIK aspirants who scored below 230, were left to battle with admission this year.

2) Recommended : This Means The Institution You Picked Haven't Given You Admission and There's a Chance That Institution Won't Give you admission Or Release Another List, So If you Click Accept, Jamb Will Automatically Put You in the Market Place that's Assign You to another University That Wants You Whether You picked them or not so after clicking accept keep checking the acceptance page to be notified of your fresh admission

3)Approved: Congratulations You've been Admitted Accept Immediately that's if you want the admission

4) Admitted: Congratulations!..For Some people It Won't Show Approved, it will show admitted Just accept Either one you see.
Every JAMBITES who have been offered admission are endeavour to login to their jamb profile portal and accept the admission via CAPS link if they're fully satisfied with given admission from the institutions chosen!!

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has released the list of admitted candidates for 2017/2018 academic session.

Candidates who applied for admission in the university can check their admission status on the school portal.


HOW TO CHECK UNIZIK ADMISSION LIST.
Follow the procedure below to check your admission status

-Log on to http://portal.unizik.edu.ng/utme-screening/2017_2018/index.html
-Scroll down and click on "Continue"
-Enter your email and Password in the spaces provided
-Click on "Login" and proceed to view your admission details
-Click Login to access your UNIZIK admission status.

Successfully admitted candidates are to begin necessary registrations without delay. Also note that lectures will begin for old and new students on Monday, 27th November 2017 as scheduled.


There are two significant changes that made me believe that uploading of names is going on..
First, when you click on admission status, You then must have logged in,it now shows "Check Admission status" instead of the previous "Check application status"
Secondly, when you click on "check admission status" it will pop up a page of java script as if it were a web programming page,it does not show blank any more.
This two changes show that something is going on right now on the portal, I advice everyone to start checking right now..
