The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, on Tuesday said the party must field a presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections.

He said the party would not make the mistakes of the past where it did not present any presidential candidates in past elections.

Obi-Okoye spoke with our correspondent in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Stating that the National Working Committee of APGA had not micro-zoned its presidential slot to any part of the country, Obi-Okoye said the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, was top in the party’s consideration for the ticket.

He said, “We have not zoned our presidential candidate to any part of the country. But since APGA is seen as a political party with Igbo interest, it’s natural that we may look for a presidential candidate within.

“His Excellency, the executive governor of Anambra State has distinguished himself as a great party man with great achievements; so he is one of our best for the 2019 presidential race.

“But one thing is clear , we must field a presidential candidate in 2019. We won’t make the mistake of the past.

Obiano shouldn't waste his time and money because Igbos don't vote their own for president or vice, it's only after the election they'll start blaming the Yorubas and Hausas for not voting their person.

lemme laugh first. So the imbecilic killer who after all the dogged campaigns could not get up to 1% of votes from the total population of Anambra people is now warming up as a presidential candidate? The actual fact is that apc may file in Obiano as VP candidate after his certain and imminent decamp to apc as a compensation for killing his Anambra subjects to the credit of his Arewa People Congress(APC) masters, but either way apc even in all their plans to re-manipulate the election like they previously did, so Obiano has route for escape. The records of the just concluded fraudulent election has proven to Obiano his faith in the minds and amongst Anambra people.

Can anybody tell me what the volume number of those soldiers were doing in Anambra, if this number of soldiers were to be in sambisa forest, will boko haram still be existing; and someone says there were no state of emergency in Anambra. Even if they like they should just make Obiano the president tomorrow without election, his irrelevance and inconsequential capacity in his own state and his immediate community is a clear proof that he speaks for' and represents no one. #WENEEDREFERENDUM
