I wonder what the elected politicians would be doing if their duties are now performed by pastors. Enemies of the church.

You are so right...I can't understand how pastors suddenly became the problem of Nigeria.

Daddy Freeze is rich, and flaunts costly watches on social media, I wonder how many people he has helped.

After we kill tithing, I wonder what else daddy freeze would proceed to? Tithes can't buy airplane, Blessed people who acknowledge the input of their pastors in their success, do.

Those leading pastors are complicit, if they use the same energy used in talking about the biblical sense of tithe in also talking about the corruption by their friends in politics we would be better off. They only use their forum for their personal aggrandizement.
So you want pastors to start preaching about corruption on the pulpit?
What's EFCC, the Law and constitution for?

If you ran your governments the way church leaders are running churches. Nigeria might be a Qatar right now. In all these argument Canaanland has had stable electricity and water supply for its over 15,000 residents since 1999 and is already on the verge of converting waste to electricity. RCCG is producing 25MW of electricity. Yet your useless govt you pay compulsory tax, vat, CIT, Pet Tax has not been able to give you light decades after independence.

Living Faith has more than 16,000 Staff and has never owed any of them salary! Yet your state govt that collects Allocation plus Tax cannot pay full salary.

Living Faith a single Church is schooling 16 thousand of your Citizens in Higher institutions and many more at primary and Secondary levels yet you think you have the capacity to waggle your tonguehuh

Problem with most Christians today is that they have their big Bibles with them but know next to nothing about the content, all they know is what Daddy GO or pastor said.

In all sincerity, what does a pastor need a private jet for?

I don't think Charlie Boy is making a connection between pastors and our lack of a national airliner, rather he's saying most of these pastors are just as corrupt as these politicians we heavily criticize..

Go to very advanced countries. The men of God there don't enjoy 1/10th of what some of these GOs enjoy here, talkless of Private Jet. So isn't it stupid, that Nigeria, one of the poorest countries from a continent that contributes just merely over 2% of the total global GDP, that such a country has men of God who have private jets while the country doesn't have a national Carrier. Surely something is amiss.

Lol. You must obviously be a kid. Your reasoning is very poor.

And people who go after politicians are bullies who go after hard target?! C'mon man.

Lemme break things down.

Pastors, like politicians are in charge of public money. The politicians receive tax from citizens. The pastor receive tithe and offerings from members. Basically we're told tithes and offerings perform the same function as the tax we pay to the government. How? Tax is used for the smooth running and maintenance of the country in the same way tithes and offerings, as we're told these days, are used for the smooth running and maintenance of the Church.

A Politician with a government office has a salary which we know is not that much but buys himself a private jet. Boom. All hell lets lose. The first thing we think of is corruption. "oh he must have embezzled", we cry.

But when a pastor with no other source of livelihood apart from his church buys a private jet. Sshhh. Everyone is quiet. "God has blessed him", we say. Because he used the money meant for running the church go satisfy his penchant?!

The government as well as pastors are both accountable. It's very unfair to always criticize politicians and place pastors in a shroud of untouchableness.
Point of correction there; The government is accountable to you because you put them in power with your vote to serve you and you pay your taxes to them - that's the legal ground on which government becomes accountable to citizenry. Pastors are not accountable to the citizens of a country. They are only accountable to God and their church members. So Bishop Oyedepo is in no way accountable to you if you are not a member of his church and you pay tithe to winners. Pastor Adeboye is in no way accountable to you if you are not a member of Redeemed and you pay tithes to that church. That is exactly how no Pastor is accountable to Freeze because Freeze has no pastor. You have absolutely no right to demand any form of accountability from where you have not sown. I can walk up to my church and ask for records of church expenditure if I so wish because I pay tithes and give offerings, but honestly I can't be bothered to do that cos as far as I'm concerned it's God's business to punish any pastor steals church money.

Having said that, how is it your business if church members decide to buy a private jet (s) for their pastor just like I recently heard choir members in Christ Embassy contributed money to buy a private jet for Pastor Chris? How is it your business? Did they use your money to buy the jet? did you pay tithe to church and the pastor stole it to use and buy jets? Most of you complaining, it's just poverty mentality and sometimes jealousy that has bound your thinking pattern and made you believe pastors should not look good as if God wrote it in his word that his servants will be wretched if they serve Him genuinely. Even Jesus asked for a brand new donkey that no man has ever rode to carry him to Jerusalem, and that's the equivalent of asking for a brand new car in today's world if Jesus were here in this age. It is people like you that are the religious people who criticised Jesus for everything and ended up crucifying him. You would have been a Pharisee or Saducee if you were living in the time of Jesus based on your critical tendencies.

whaooo, Bro, did you realised all what you've just highlighted is someone's empire. Believe it or not, the church and other facilities mentioned belongs to the Oyedepo's Trust. Comparing the governance of most churches to that of a country like Nigeria is ridiculous. Most of these churches are private empire, the country belong to every citizens although its run by selected few. Its like comparing the use of a private car to an official car.
The fact is this, Nigerians gets the exact type of government we deserves. Nobody wants to take responsiblity for all that have gone wrong. We blame the government for everything. Who votes this people into power? Well, its a known facts that many social media/online crusaders don't even have a voter's card. But yet, they rant everyday abt what's wrong with the country, abt how politicians mismanage public funds. A common call for street protest, almost everybody go hiding under their roofs.
Nigerians are quick to compare and contrast the country to the western world. Many Nigerians can't volunteer a tenth of the sacrifice most citizens of the western world had to undergo. We all want to wake up and see the road tarred with street lights grin. Most development of the first world countries are done by the private sector. But in Nigeria of today, one of the booming sector of the economy is the religious centers. Lagos for example, most of the warehouses and factories built in the 1960s and 1970s are been acquired by the religious organisations and convert to worship centers. Bro, how can such an economy be sustainable in the long run? Currently, Nigeria is one of the countries with a larger number of worship centers then production factories. And yet, we blame the government for unemployment?
My point is this, churches, mosques or other religious organisations cannot be immune to criticism in this current times of Nigeria. The church for example is sitting on a trillions of Naira, and the sad truth is, these fund still won't go to a productive part of the economy. I know that some churches do invest some of their funds, bt they are only interested in short term liquid investment. I am waiting for the time when the RCCGs, the Winners' chapels etc. wealthy religious organisation can invest into mega projects such as power plants, Railway lines, ICT research centers, Research Labs for the cure of African/Nigerian prevalent diseases etc.

One love.

They never forced anybody to give or put a gun on thier head to pay thier tithe and offering. You Can Choose not to.

But my issue is with these elected politicians charged with the responsibility of making the country better. As it is, they are supposed to be serving us the masses and doing our bidding, and making our life better. That is thier function by LAW.

How much are they paid as salaries that they can afford private jetshuh??

My dear Wendell aka Reno Omokri

I am not sure how to address you, whether to call you Reno Omokri or Wendell Smilin. This in itself is a fundamental problem. Your multiple identities send a profound message about your character and duplicitous personality.

For the benefit of those who may not remember, I crave your indulgence to remind them that Wendell Smilin is one of your multiple names, the fake name(like the fake opinion articles, replete with fake news you write), you used to create a fake document that sought to portray our former Central Bank Governor, now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as a sponsor of terrorism in 2014 when you worked as the lead social media attack dog for former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Your role was simple: disparage and demonize anyone who attempts to disagree with, and criticize, most times constructively, your principal. I have no qualms with how you decide to put food on your table. However, I quiver whenever I recall that you used and faked the name of your brother-In-law’s innocent young son, Wendell Simlin to demonize Emir Sanusi. Who does that? What kind of a human being are you? You’re at liberty to sell your conscience, soul and even your entire being (both physical and spiritual), for a mess of porridge; but must you drag the name of your innocent young relative into your mess?

As a pastor (that is one prefix in front of one of your names I can’t seem to wrap my head around), you ought to know that the Bible tells Christians not to hold a grudge or stay angry. In your case it’s been such a long time-almost two years after your principal lost the Presidential election.

You say Amaechi lied and no money was missing; yet billions in Naira and other currencies are being recovered regularly from top operatives of your principal’s administration.

You even went as low as writing that Amaechi consistently betrays his benefactors without mentioning one benefactor he betrayed; and the accusations from matters that are in court. How low can you go?

The Pastor is. both accountable to God and his members. Unfortunately most of these men are not because most of their members, as simple minded as you, believe it's not their business to know what he does with their money.

That is a very stupid way of reasoning. Desist from it.
