I'm an ex- jupeb student. The fact that I could afford it(which I struggled to) doesn't mean everyone can.
C'est compri?

I'm at the verge of choosing between these courses..
biochem,
anatomy,
physiology,
microbiology,
plant biology,
science laboratory technology..

I happen to know someone that can place me in any of the courses above in Uniben cos I got 64% in the just concluded post utme examination and I'm having difficulty in picking one..

Help me pick one pls, the best, with reasons...
thanks in advance
you could still go for biochemistry and apply for jamb next year..so you no if jamb doesn't work out next year..you continue with your biochemistry..you could do msc in medical biochemistry and work as a medical assistant in the lab..

If we can decide your future educational choice then you don't need to go to school

Just sit down in your house and fool yourself

Just offer your piece of advice and move on.

Offer you advice?

Did anyone offered advice for your choice of ssce and jamb subjects
Re: by DMainMan: 9:06pm On Oct 15, 2017
choose Science lab tech as it has better job and self employment opportunities. The other ones don't have job opportunities in Nigeria as most don't practise it.

However, no course is useless. Try and pass out with at least second class upper in whatever course you choose. Getting job irrespective of the field is easier as u will b trained. Yoruba and Religion graduates are working as Auditor in top 4 accounting firms. Getting job there requires at least 2.1 in any discipline. And so are banks and others. With 2.1, you are eligible with many scholarship opportunities too.

Don't be rude, its not mandatory you comment. The OP needed some piece of advice, the least you could do is to air your opinion or you bounce if you don't have any ,rather than being insultive to the OP.

I can see you want to be in the medical/health line,if so just follow what those above me have said,go for professional courses like Medicine/Dentistry,Physiotherapy,Radiography,Nursing,Medical Laboratory Science trust me you will have an edge and be better off.biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy are all good but not good enough in our dear country of today.crossing to professional courses after your 1st year is not as easy as it seems.Science Laboratory Technology is the best among those courses you listed.at least SLT will give you a little edge in industries and other work related places.mind you they are also licenced to carryout their job, but do not mistake it for Medical Laboratory Science, your SLT lisence does not cover a Medical laboratory.Goodluck with your choices.

tnx sir..I'll go for SLT first , then write jamb for a professional course

SwayG, We all have different destinies. Everyone is advising you to go for professional courses like medicine, radiology etc so you can have a job. The word JOB irks me.

If you know your self-worth, you'll know what to do with all those courses listed there. I studied physiology bro. I've been admitted to do MSc.

I'm a freelancer (on fiverr) running a gig on medical research. Bro, its when I started that gig that I knew there are potentials in every course you study. I can't even sleep at night cos of the orders I get from medical students in the US & other countries.

I write health books and publish them on amazon kindle and CreateSpace.

I run a health blog.

This JOB mentality is what is pushing so many students into making decisions that they live to regret. Before you jump into MBBS (which is not bad in itself), I suggest you have a chat with med students and doctors to find out if they actually enjoy or derive satisfaction from what they do.

No abuses please. Its my opinion.

PEACE!!!

I totally agree with you...

I've realized that I'm on my own and the path I choose will affect my life in a long run and I gato do it right with visions I can gather..
I hope I arrive at the path that brings me joy, not the path that will make me keep searching and yearning for more grace to keep up with the pace of life after acquiring my degree..

I recently developed more attraction to SLT as a career due to the fact that I was opportuned to work with one few weeks back. He was really happy with his career, but that's just one person. Another may be more bitter with it than a newly orphaned adult..

I'm really sad I didn't realize much until now..all I can say is that I'm still moving forward towards light..

the path you picked is so cool @ masterRahl..
tnx for the seed sown..
