Madam, it is still NOT common. I have worked extensively with young teenagers in a variety of situations, in Nigeria and abroad. Out of every 30 teenage mothers who got pregnant at an early age, maybe only 2 or 3 will end up completing their education. Most of them drop out and cannot go any further, for several reasons. So do your research before using your neighbour as a yardstick for every single teenage mother, out there.

Not necessarily a graduate, but you must acquire decent qualifications that can help you get a job, acquire a skill or learn a proper trade. There are vocational qualifications for those who want to chose a different route to education, or a different career path. Bottom line, is that you must be able to support yourself and your family through a legitimate source of income or means of livelihood. Not yahoo-yahoo....

People go through tougher troubles than teenage pregnacy with limited resources and still susceed.

That is what happens to many of them, especially in the North. Some do not even get married, sef. They just lose their sense of direction, and fall from one mistake into another!

Okay o Oga, and I am saying what I know, have seen and researched. You do need to update your own knowledge about what happens to single teenage mothers, in urban and rural areas in Nigeria.
