Lately, DSTV and GOTV are threatened by TSTV
but now not only TSTV has become a threat
but KWESE TV in the market. DSTV and GOTV
are owned by south Africa while KWESE TV is
owned by Kenya.

If you could remember distribution agreement was signed between the company and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in 2017, and this made Kwesé Tv to have an exclusive access to content and programs of NTA.

It is as a result that Kwesé TV and its Kwesé Free Sport were the only pay-TV broadcaster of the Nigeria-Argentina friendly match in November 2017.

According to the deal, Kwesé TV will be using
MTN stores across Nigeria to coordinate sales
of its decoders due to MTN as the largest most used Network in nigeria here by increasing market presence and share of Kwesé TV in Nigeria.

As Ms Elizabeth Amkpa, General Manager of Kwesé TV stated that this partnership will help Kwesé Tv get to more consumers in the
market.

Why the deal between MTN and KWESE was
pulled out was because of MTN stores has
major sale points for Kwesé TV’s decoder, MTN subscribers would also be enrolled on the Mobile Video platform of the Kwesé Network.

They would be offered an exclusive video data bundle service in the New Year. As a result, it will increasing its premium mobile
video products consumer base in the country.

With move such as this, the market leadership position of DSTV and GOTV (Multichoice Nigeria) is being threatened.

It's strange for MTN to work against the interest of its South African company, DSTV.

Strive Masiwaya, i believe in that man and his business ethics. Trust Kwese TV to take out DSTV in the nearest future.

Lol. It will take Kwese tv next 100 years to measure up with Dstv in terms of quality service and their TV stations. You think it's just about pricing.
