hello nairalanders, i have chosen to go into web development and perhaps develop desktop apps. i have gone past the basics of web design (front end only), which has to do with creating pages with html and styling.. then i moved on to javascript, and this is where my confusion began. i came across several offsprings of javascript, i.e json, jquery, ajax, node.js etc etc... just for javascript alone... i haven't even strolled the jungle the backend technologies have to offer. should i concentrate on just a few and skip the "unimportant" ones? ... which should i not bother myself about? or it is rather expected of me to cook myself in everything in order to make a standard functional website? thanks for your replies. |
