I've been watching THE FOREIGNER...not finished yet, will finish it this evening with just about 30 mins to go But so far it hasn't really impressed me, still waiting for the X Factor - I mean that cutting edge Jackie Chan's classic. I'll give my final ratings after finishing it.

I watched a couple of days ago and I felt it was unlike Jackie really. His movies are always lively, fun, full of excitement but foreigner was a shadow of himself.

Not sure you guys understood the context of the movie sha, he just lost about the last family he had. How e wan take full of excitement or lively. That movie compared to a lot of crap this year isn't bad at all

Addressing issues like racism, local gangs, police corruption, government manipulation in a fantasy setting is a genius concept on its own. Managing to maintain a serious tone in such a universe is an admirable feat. And delivering a coherent plot was the coup de gras.
With solid performances from Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. Good acting from Lucy Fry.
Bright is a solid 8.5/10.

P.S: I'm usually of the opinion that everyone cannot like a movie but anyone that rates Bright less than 6/10 here again should have their IQ level checked

Bro, I don't know how you can call yourself a "critical review student" and expect to be spoon fed a movie's storyline and setting.
Fine, let me break it down for you.
The setting of the movie is in a fantasy modern day world where elves, humans, orcs, dwarves, fairies exist together. ( If you pay attention to detail, a dragon was flying during one of the night scenes).
As the movie progresses, you'll notice that elves are the highest class or race while orcs are generally despised. From the conversations, you'll realize that this is due to events of about 2000 years ago when the orcs sided with the Dark Lord.
From the action scenes, you'll notice that orcs are the physically strongest while elves are the fastest ( a staple in everyday fantasy).
Lastly, I don't recall a scene where any human beat an elf. It took the combined efforts of an elf, a man & an orc to do it.

My friend, if you need oral narration to follow a storyline as simple as Bright's storyline, you have no business watching movies above PG-13, let alone call yourself a reviewer. This is not an insult. It's fact

So because Chan wasn't playing some goofy nice guy and Brosnan wasn't a suave, smart-talking agent, they are now a shadow of their former selves. Nigga please.
Those two gave solid performances. Jackie was the picture of heartbreaking depression as befits a man who just lost the last valuable person in his life. Then transitioning those feelings to focused vengeance.
Pierce was easily despicable as a corrupt politician with a twisted agenda.
What else did you want from them?
Pierce's accent in the movie is Northern Irish Brogue

Dude, no download BR2049 o. Many people rated it poorly so I don't want you to download and blame me if you found it mediocre. But my rating of the film still stands. I enjoyed the movie, my only grouse with it is the excessive time. The movie is still in my laptop, if I had found it useless like Baywatch, I'd have deleted immediately after watching.

As for Mother, God forbid that I waste a kilobyte on it. No review I've seen has been positive about the movie. I no dey watch.

Nice movie with a very deep meaning.

The meaning I could give the movie based on my own understanding is that......

Something connected the two which is LOVE. Upon all the sufferings, pains, neglect, short-term happiness, surface care et al.. she still stayed for the LOVE. At a point she wanted to leave but was persuaded based on Hope of a better time to come.

She eventually got so hurt that made her heart strong and still. The heart she had been feeling, which pump blood always. Stopped. When she lost the most precious thing to her. She became completely devastated and resulted to suicide. She then realized it has not been LOVE all along. Felt nothing else was worth it, she burned herself to death.

Realized she was dead. He felt so sorry and full of regrets. He looked for her heart, use something, a stone, to immortalize her strong heart.It became the only thing that kept him happy and alive. No one must near it, if the immortalize object is destroyed. He will lose himself and return to his sorrows and regrets of his selfish deeds of the past.


Why stayed in a situation that is not full of happiness.

Why commit to something that does not support your views.

Why is our world full of selfish leaders who leave most things that need to be attend to and care for. Only for their actions to bring war and chaos.

Anyone with a rather different meaning should share.
