ImadeUReadThis: “This is the biggest industrial site anywhere in the world from the fertiliser, petrochemical and refinery plants. The Dangote Group is building the largest single train petroleum refinery in the world with a production capacity of about 650,000 barrels per day. Edwin Devakumar, Group Executive Director at Dangote Industries, spoke to CNBC Africa's Esther Awoniyi about the project. 1. I said the largest SINGLE refinery in the world, not the largest refinery in the world, the word SINGLE was there for a reason, but apart from the fact that many of you are so ignorant, you lack the mental capacity to read and comprehend simple English words or to even use common google for research and verification. 2. Instead of your ignorant preoccupation, you people should be proud of what we are doing in Nigeria and what a fellow Nigerian achieved because when they talk about the largest single refinery or the largest urea fertilizer plant in the world, they will say it's in Nigeria, not in Dangote. Btw, the whole of Africa consumes 5 million tons of urea fertilizer/year, but Nigeria alone is going to be producing 3 million out of that 5 million. Meaning we are going to dominate the fertilizer market and export market in Africa and we still have leftover fuel from the refinery and refined petroleum products to export for foreign exchange, this is called diversification and source of foreign exchange. Be proud of your country for a change and you are obviously the disgusting IGNORANT ILLITERATE IDIOT here.. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Dangote Refinery is in Nigeria's listing of strategic national projects. Government will support it for FOREX conservation, GDP growth, skills incubation. Let me talk about skills incubation. Do you know Nigerians were the second best Petroleum Engineers in the world from 1995 to 2003?. This came about because of Shell , Exxon, Mobil. Nigeria probably earned $10bn USD from diaspora remittance from skilled petroleum Engineers, drillers and other skill areas in 20 years. We can do the same for petrochemicals the same way Indians are making money in the middle east. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Adminisher: Ignorant people don't build the largest single refinery in the world Ignorant people don't build the largest urea fertilizer plant in the world Ignorant people don't build the largest gas plant in Africa Ignorant people don't build the largest petrochemical plant in Africa The largest construction site in the world is in Nigeria so we are not ignorant. From importers of petroleum products, we are going to be exporters of the same petroleum products. From importers of fertilizer, we are going to be exporters of fertilizer. Yes, we have challenges, but we are addressing our challenges. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

deomelo: No I support the APC government in its economic nationalism and import substitution policies. I support Dangote Refinery but the Modular Refinery idea is stupid and silly pandering to Niger Delta youths. The things will blow up in two years one by one . I am not saying this idly. Regulation is impossible in the Niger Delta and slackness, laziness and lackadaisical attitudes common place. Look at the complexities of inspection and corrosion control alone. Big nonsense those modular refineries. 3 Likes |

Adminisher: Weel said. Hundreds of young Nigerians are currently in India learning how to run and manage this huge energy complex, this is major tech and tech knowledge transfer. The project is strategic nationally for so many reasons including the staggering number of jobs to be created and may many more collateral jobs on the side. $15 billion investment in any country is a big deal. |

Adminisher: Then source for crude elsewhere outside the Niger Delta. For years the warri and PH refineries where meeting the nation's local consumption until your ab0kis ruined it. Now that you have your own personal ab0ki refinery subsidized by the FG why not look for crude elsewhere? |
Re: Dangote Refinery: Govt Sponsored Monopoly In The Making by deomelo: 12:56am On Jan 01, 2018 |
Adminisher: I see where you are coming from, the module thing was pandering so you are right, but the government have to do something especially considering the fact that they've issued licenses to many companies and individuals to build refineries, but they did not build anything and the government can not build and operate refineries, hence our 4 refineries gathering dust, this is strictly a private enterprise kind of situation. I think the FG is indiretly legaizing the crude, dirty and polluting illegal refinries in the Delta just to percify them. 2 Likes 1 Share |
