The immediate past governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday disclosed that ‘Witchcraft politics’ is responsible for the insecurity and high crime rate in the state, pointing out that he successfully tackled insecurity up until the “new men of power” came into the government.

Noting that “23 men, women and children were murdered” while returning from Cross-over service on New Year day at Omoku, Rivers state, he accused the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government of failing to take responsibility for the peoples security.

The minister of Transportation, who stated this in a broadcast to the people over recent killings in the state, noted that the people of Rivers have in the past few years, “suffered and endured a debilitating state of insecurity”.
