Individuals from the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), on Thursday, proceeded with their dissent in Kaduna in spite of notices and fixed security by the Police. The nonconformists were seen walking through the streets in the state capital and demanded continuing to the Government House, where they mean to present their dissent letter to the Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. The National President of the NLC, Ayuba Philibus Wabba, stated that the Police can't prevent us – individuals decided can never be vanquished and consequently, we are resolved, we will make our point. "We will present our letter of challenge, and in the event that they like they should act yet I think it is an appreciated advancement since laborers have seen that regardless of our olive hand of partnership, to attempt to perceive how those issues are settled on the table, we have seen that with exemption, the choice of the National Industrial Court is being put aside, with exemption, individuals are not permitted to practice their flexibility of affiliation and this isn't what we anticipated." This comes in spite of protection by Policemen and other security agents who mounted reconnaissance at significant streets and the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) Secretariat in the state funding to keep the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), from proceeding with the challenge. Policemen were additionally drafted along the Kaduna-Abuja interstate to keep NLC individuals from different states and the FCT from going into Kaduna state for the anti government protest. source: http://www.sundayjoe.com/2018/01/despite-warnings-from-police-nlc.html

Dear People, Nigeria is in a desperate state right now; Fulani issues on one hand, a dying president's son, SARS issue, APC 2019 strategy concerns, Trump/Nigeria issue over Israel, Libya slavery concerns, Fuel scarcity and potential hike concerns, fast rising cultism concerns, power related issues and now NLC. The nation is presently on its knees 11 Likes 1 Share |

do they think the Governor cares but he should have posted them to other sector where they can still be useful instead of sacking them na the problem with this sack today is because of the nigeria usual way of employment; take this letter to him, he will direct it to somebody who knows somebody who know another person 5 Likes 1 Share |

Their protest can't still erase the fact that they failed Primary 4 Exam. Mediocres must not be allowed to teach children. A question from the Governor's Twitter handle reads: Can you allow someone like that to teach your child? --- Nasir El-Rufai, 2017. Other States should emulate Kaduna. 9 Likes |

I still don't get why the military was deployed for ordinary protest and IGP is saying they are not needed to combat herdsmen. Sometimes you get ashamed of saying you are a Nigerian. 11 Likes

We must end the public service life of this midjet. He has a penchant for causing pain to people wherever he works. As FCT minister, he shook Abuja and now Kaduna. They send am from coven? Those clamouring that he be president of Nigeria should stop it else we are finished. I have an instinct that most of PMB's brutal actions and inactions are teleguided by this midjet. joseph6071: 2 Likes |

So, NLC wants Kaduna children to be taught by bad teachers? After, they will be complaining of half baked graduates. |

Drabeey: you are a novice and that is y u speak like one, the 4000 local government workers al-rufai sacked last month including thousands of secondary school teachers he distributed sack letters to, (who are yet to write d competency test) are those sackings due to incompetence too? pls look deep before jumping into conclusions |
Re: Sack: NLC, Teachers Protest In Kaduna Despite Warnings From The Police by Uyeye(m): 3:52pm On Jan 11, 2018 |
Maybe cos the constitution guarantees the right to peaceful protest and the police are saddled with the responsibility to make sure that laws and not broken rather than prevent them from protesting. It is like police is looking for a free day and will not want anybody to bring them out in the sun to keep peace. So the easy way is to ban any form of protest with a blanket statement that some sensitive intelligence show that hoodlum will hijack the protest Who is suppose to tackled hoodlums? |

They should give the teachers additional training to brush them up,since they've been in the system, they will pick up.This is better than an outright dismissal. If the state.has not failed on their part, these.teachers would.have been brushed.up by now through in service.training and courses. |

9jakohai:I made an opinion looking at it from the pain to be felt by affected folks. Its obvious you have a different view from mine. The ideal thing to do is to explain your opinion to all. Asking me to go and enrol my kids there to butress your point is one of the problems on this forum. Who ever holds public office, irrespective of party must be open to disection by the people. All opinion must be on the office holder and the issue but folks like you are quick to attack critics with fowl language as if we must all agree with your views. Even in the US, Trump is being lampooned without reserve because he is a public figure. So oga, learn to share your opinion on public figures and stop using foul language on people whose views are different from yours. Thank you. |
Re: Sack: NLC, Teachers Protest In Kaduna Despite Warnings From The Police by Nobody: 7:23am On Jan 12, 2018 |
Tecno66: 1. I did not use foul language, you did (Midjet). 2.Would you enroll your child under those kind of teachers.? Would you? You may not like the governor....but it is high time we stopped allowing mediocre teachers train the next generation. Enough is enough. If a teacher cannot teach properly, why should he or she teach? Kaduna state does not want to be a ELDS state forever. So, since the teachers are good enough for you....make sure your child gets taught by them. But you won't....you have alternative. Meanwhile...it is the kids from poor backgrounds that get the worst of it. 2 Likes |
