Your farm for a whole season is destroyed when they pass through it.
Your cassava farm will just rot if they pass through it. Whatever you have in your farm will be eaten up. Don't we have cow feeds?

Agreed, they need to modernise at the same time the request for allocation of Ranching Land is being rejected across the country .

Is there no land in Katsina state or Sokoto, Kebbi and the rest of the Jihadist Sharia enclaves?

they are trekking down south because the love to suffer. they are daft and uneducated. They'll allow their evil elites to use them like animals while the proceeds from the cows are used to lavish and send their children abroad to live the best lives. The Fulani herdsmen can never use their brain to sit down for once and think about how useless and miserable their elites have made them become.

Can you trekk from north to west, east or south with cows? Will you pray that any of your close relatives do that kinda dirty and senseless job?
Look at the vegetation of the pictures.

The family the children where are they going to?the grass look dry. Up north it's harmattan down south there is hostility. This post has done what miyetti Allah could not do, showing us the human side of the nomads, all I can see is just a family ...looking lost. God help us

I'm impressed with the write-up! The ruling class doesn't want the tactically enslaved nomads to be freed from its claws of slavery of its kinsmen. Though more than meet the eye with the spate of killings everywhere, I still believe the elite oppressors can better their lives and that of others if they do the right thing -Education, orientation and equity.

I have been on Nairaland for close to 10 years. But this is the most sensible and sincere post from my fellow northern brother. The northern elites are the biggest problem of the north. They have decided that the poor must just depend on them. No part of this country has "the stinkingly rich few" like the North. Painfully, poverty is not decreasing here. What is wrong with ranching? I'll tell you.
1. Ranching "will increase expenses" for the affluent whose cows are being ranched (in reality, it won't).
2. The very intelligent Fulani's (believe me, they are) will have formal education, medicare and exposure, which will make the elites less happy. Why, you may ask? Because, they may compete with their Children or decedants over time.
For these reasons, the elites will continue to sacrifice the poor and uninformed masses, to their advantage. God will judge them.
Have you ever wondered why Buhari's daughters married in to the Indimi's family (& the other, a serving Governor?) Same case with Yar'adua's (his soul rest in peace) daughter?
Before I rest my case, I must encourage the young, enlightened northern youths to speak up, else their generation will remain slaves to these blood-sucking-for-wealth elites. #myonekobo

come o these herdsmen are they not from somewhere? Don't they have towns and villages of origin? Don't they have lands left to them by their ancestors in their village? They should go and establish ranches there. The typical farmer in Nigeria is farming where his great grand father used to farm.these herdsmen should do likewise

You need to read all your posts on this particular thread, then you'll understand that you are not making any sense. . you either answer the questions being thrown at you or logout and go to bed. It's the same stubbornness that you guys have. Always being defensive and claiming right when doing evil.

You are silly. Only people supporting the fulanis currently are northerns... and i am very sure u are one. what people are saying that u claimed as rejection is that they should BUY LAND and ranch... no free land for them u fool. Above that, it should NOT BE the government that should that for them. Those cows are owned by individuals. let the the individual come forward and acquire the land themselves but the government want to use government money to do it... where has that be done in other businesses that is privately owned?
go sleep. I dont blame u, i blame God for putting headless nonentities like you lots in same clime with saner beings.

Oh so you want to trekk with your cows from the north to south to come and eat grass because your land is dry? And the land in that picture is the only landscape in the whole of the north? You cannot buy grass to feed your cows with all the money you make from selling them? abegiiii

relax and read again.
He is one of the criminals.
He is subtly asking us to accommodate our LANDLESS fulani brothers by giving them LANDS in the 36 STATES as CATTLE COLONIES.
Tomorrow they will now tell us how the entire NIJERIYA is their land by right of CONQUEST.
When a fulani is speaking, listen very well and read between the lines.
Only the discerning can understand these naturally born tricksters

Kill who? shocked Cattle owners (not herdsmen) are not poor people by any standards. How much is a cow? And how many are in a herd? Let them form cooperatives, buy land, liaise with private developers and build ranches. End of story.
well said, myself need 7 plots in Abuja municipal for a good biz. Govt should consider people like us with herdsmen whom government want to give free ranch in every states.

After killing their host communities, and trespassing into farms, how do you expect them to be accomodated?

Nigerians have been tolerating herdsmen until they started their madness of killing innocent people and destroying their farms. How do you continue to tolerate people who are just happy killing and destroying peoples properties for fun and the government is supporting them.

They've been doing business with many communities for centuries.
I think some criminal elements have began to camouflage as Fulani Herdsmen .

I totally agree.

Over the years, they've had a way they settle with their host communities whenever such happens.

This isn't new.

Like I said, a criminal elements has hijacked their trade which obviously warrants the antipathy exhibited by many people.

Yet I insist we need to be circumspect in how we analyse this.
