A credible source has revealed that Apple may very soon cancel the iPhone X which is Apple’s greatest flagship of the moment. According to AppleInsider, KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says disappointing sales of the phone model will lead to the cancellation of the model “with production ceasing in the summer”. The last time Apple cancelled an iPhone model after a generation is in 2014 with the iPhone 5C. According to Kuo, lack of interest by the Chinese in the iPhone model is the main main reason behind the cancellation. Big screen phones (phablets) are loved so much in China but consumers prefer the iPhone 8 Plus as they believe it is more optimised than the iPhone X. He also mentioned that this does not mean things are gloomy for Apple as the company would even make a 5% growth in the first 6 months of 2018. This is because they have three flagship phones in the market at a time (iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus). He also said he believes Apple will end the 2018 calendar year with a 10% growth as the device will be replaced by three new iPhone X-inspired designs: a second generation 5.8-inch iPhone X, 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus and a “$650-750” (#235,0000 – #270,000) 6.1-inch iPhone SE replacement which will be fitted with Face ID.
