There has been some slight improvement ...i got back home at about 9pm yesterday and met electricity which stayed till 6 this morning as I was exiting my gate for my morning run ..Got back from the run by 9 but didn't meet electricity again

I I would say in the past 4 days there has been an improvement in the access to power I get I think the average IS now about 7 hours a day up from the miserable 3 hours .

People from your ethnic group or state who're also benefiting from sharing of oil monies won't allow it to break. Every state, every region, every ethnic group is guilty of this. Your governor, former governors, house of assembly members serving and former, all public office holders and public/civil servants in your state don't want any change in the status quo. If Nigeria breaks, most, if not all of them, would lose their position. Some of them would even be killed. They are afraid of that. Imagine for a second Nnamdi Kanu/IPOB and the Igbo elites should Biafra be allowed.....

More so, aside from the people from your place not wanting to lose the advantage that they currently enjoy from the present state of things, every other part of Nigeria, except the oil producing states, is afraid of being by themselves.

They think they can't survive without collecting a share from the oil proceeds that comes from Niger Delta. They think they will be poor if Nigeria ceases to exist. They think they will lose their house in Lagos and Abuja should Nigeria break off.

Even at the individual level, if today you own a house in Abuja and/or Lagos, your stomach will turn anytime you hear of disintegration. Why? because you think you ill lose your property because break-off means everyone will have to return to their country.

The Northerners know this and they use Abuja to blackmail the elites from your ethnic group, state, or region to stay in Nigeria. It is why Junaid Mohammed, a Northerner, reminds you all the time that the North will keep everything in Abuja and also take Illorin with them should the country break. He says this because he knows that if you own a house or piece of land in Abuja, that you cannot even begin to think of losing it because of break-off and as such would support the continuation of the shithole as one nation.

Ultimately, it really boils down to this: You are happy with the continuation of "One Nigeria" if you've benefited from corruption or hope to do so at some point in time. And if corruption has not benefited you and you don't see any chance of that happening, then Nigeria is an unbearable entrapment. Very sad indeed.
