Capcom has announced today that Monster Hunter: World,
the new main entry of its action series has shipped five
million copies worldwide between the PS4 and Xbox One
versions, including digital sales. This result makes ‘World’ the fastest selling entry in the series, which originated in 2005 on PS2. The stakes were very high for the newest game, as Capcom decided to take serious risks in order to expand the popularity of the series at a worldwide scale.

Sega has announced that it will publish the first project from Interior Night, a new studio founded by ex-Quantic Dream lead designer, Caroline Marchal.
Interior Night was established last October, and the London- based studio will focus on creating "narrative games aimed at a mature TV audience".
Sega says that it won't be discussing Interior Night's first project - a new IP - just yet, but Marchal's role as lead game designer on Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls will likely offer some clues as to the studio's eventual output.

The team behind MotorStorm and Driveclub has announced
a 5th June release date for Onrush, its shiny new PlayStation
4 and Xbox One racing game.

Onrush pre-orders are now live for both platforms. Put your
money down on PS4 and you'll get access to a beta in May.
There's also a PS4 Deluxe Edition with extra vehicle designs
and other gubbins.

The figures, announced this morning by Nintendo, are impressive - but especially notable as Switch has now eclipsed lifetime sales of its failed predecessor Wii U. To put this in perspective, Wii U sold 13.5m units in five years. Switch hit its new 14.86m total in nine months.
Nintendo Switch software is also performing well, with incredibly high attach rates for the console's biggest games.
Super Mario Odyssey has sold a whopping 9.07m copies since its launch in October,
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has now sold 7.33m, while Zelda: Breath of the Wild is on 6.7m.
With 4.91m sales, Splatoon 2 has surpassed lifetime sales of Splatoon 1.
Exclusives like 1-2 Switch (1.88m), Arms (1.61m) and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (1.06m) also made it past the million sales mark.
On 3DS, the only notable releases were Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which together managed 7.17m units.
Next up for Nintendo is the job of keeping Switch's momentum going through 2018. Upcoming games include re-releases of Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors, plus new games in the Kirby, Yoshi and Fire Emblem series.
