A curious but friendly dog. Some dogs are very mean. They would bite on tires and chase vehicles away from their yards.

You technically don't need any permit but ideally if you work, you'd have to pay tax in Ontario and pay the balance in Quebec. Also you would have to get Quebec insurance for them (except they only attend hospitals in Ottawa) which means you can't call emergency services as they take people to the nearest hospital.

I thought that one is meant to pay tax to the province of residence? Please clarify @bolded

Ok. It's actually for spouse and I'm thinking of that option when I get ppr and land. How quickly can I apply? What challenges could I face as a new immigrant in applying for my spouse to join me. Adding a spouse (military official) during my ppr application would delay it for about 1.5-2years from what I read in Canada visa thread, no one is sure about military cases as they aren't so common. I don't know what to do!!!

Well the person I know that works in Ottawa but lives in Gatineau pays tax in both places. She pays about 12% in Ontario then 3% in Quebec.

Hello Boss,
Sorry for the delay in response. I have been battling with meeting deadlines.

Other bosses have already given the best line of action that your friends might have to consider.

They should contact supervisors in their intended research areas with a few worded email signifying their interests, experiences, the reason why they chose the researcher, attach their transcripts, resume and a list or links to their publications if they have any;at this point there is no need including research proposals unless explicitly asked to do so.
They should contact as many supervisors as possible. They should ask the supervisors the funding criteria too because most schools require that the phd students be funded by their respective research labs.

The above applies to almost all disciplines.
I do not know if your computer science friend has any publication atleast in a conference. If s/he does, /he has a higher chance. But then, s/he just needs to be convincing in her/his mail.
Are you studying computer science?

Salford please I have seen some job roles associated with audit which requires some form of security clearance by the government.

Please could you shed more light on the process? What is this clearance? How long does it take to get? What are the prerequisites?

security clearance or police check? Police check can take maybe 2 weeks. You need 2 pieces of govt issued ID and in Calgary it costs about $25-30.

you have a court Wedding now, apply with him, your relationship would not go through scrutiny, only his job, and in 6-8 months, you are done.
The ball is in your court, but I would strongly advise you not to go through family sponsorship route, it is a really depressing route and AVO makes things hard, chances of interview and rejection is high also.
the relationship would be scrutinized regardless in both sitiations. The government role, in this case military would also be scrutinized in both situations. You are right about the process and options. Spouse sponsorship does take longer. Ircc is working towards processing them within 12 months nowadays from what i hear.

There are fulani herdsmen in Canada too tongue

The herdsmen control the herds by trucks or ATVs.

They have guns too. The triak of a sask farmer would begin on monday. He shot and killed an aboriginal man on his farm in 2016. Aboriginal groups wants the court to treat the case as an hate crime, due to the backing and support the white farmer has received from racist groups.

Hahahahaha @fulani herdsmen

Forward your email to helpdesk@frsc.gov.ng and copy info@frsc.gov.ng, you should get a quick response. Call all the contact numbers on their website and i believe one should be working. I did that and followed up with a call. Got the letter after two weeks

Thanks tribeD..I have actually sent the email to both addresses, no response yet. Will just send a reminder mail.

Please can you confirm the number you called. I tried calling 0700 – 2255 – 3772 but it was not connecting..

This is not correct. You pay taxes to the province you live in on December 31 of the tax year and not to the province you work in. Your employer will deduct tax based on the province you work in but when it is the time to calculate your tax for the year (between January and April of the following year), you calculate your tax based on the tax rate and the tax form for the province you live in and pay (if you are still owing) or get refund (if you have already overpaid).

The issue of working in one province and living in another has been discussed on page 8 of this thread. Here is the link to it: https://www.nairaland.com/3617393/living-canada-life-canadian-immigrant/8#55947225

Thank you for the insights, we learn everyday in this our canny hustle. However, I think I prefer the covert racism to the overt one, at least when it is covert I can explain it away to other reasons as the cause of the event happening, which most or sometimes maybe the case and not racism as one may think, like I tried to explain earlier with the subway event which @vcole responded to. The one I was really worried about was like I also mentioned earlier, someone on this thread shared their experience of pple throwing eggs at them in canny and telling them to go back to their country, that chilled me. Imagine they had been with kids, how do you explain that to them esp if canada is the only country they know. It is this kind of behavior I was referring to that cannot happen in Toronto, however, pls correct me if am wrong.
maternal:

You can't settle anywhere else but Toronto because you don't have that hustler spirit to go and explore the rest of Canada. You like the status quote and that's okay. I've lived in Toronto for years and it's very racist like the rest of Canada. The sad part is other minority communities hate on each other. You think the Chinese community in Markham or Scarborough love and respect the black community in North York ? The whole multicultural thing is just a cover up. Toronto's racism is just covert, while maybe in the west coast is more overt. I prefer overt racism personally. But I'd rather face racism while making 6 figures in Alberta, than face racism in Toronto while barely scraping by. After all I came here to make money not to be liked or live in a multicultural utopia. Lastly, why do Africans come abroad and act like racism/discrimination/tribalism wasn't worse in their home country ? Racism/discrimination in African countries are 100 times worse than abroad.

Black Torontonians, the document says, remain significantly more likely to be expelled from school, unemployed, incarcerated, or victimized in hate crimes.

Is the job IT Audit or just normal Audit,
and security clearance could be complex if it is reliability status or secret.
But if its the normal security check and employer does before taking you on then that very easy
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by 9jaAlien: 4:56am On Jan 29, 2018
As for settling in Toronto racism aside, I think you have successfully made intending immigrants here reconsider settling there. But, like others before me have also stated here, everybody's story is different, and economic reasons are not the only reasons for migration.

Hello Everyone ...I have a burning question here... Is it true that if one declares during medicals that she is pregnant PPR won’t be issued until after the due date? Even if the due date is more than 6months after AORHas anyone experienced this please or is it just an assumption?
If you are pregnant when you go for medical, you won’t be allowed to do X-ray until after delivery

If pregnant after AOR and you inform them, you will be given PPR before your due date if all your documents are intact( I wrote cic and they requested for scan reports of the pregnancy)

Several people have done xray with pregnancy, they only take additional precautions, you need to inform the medical personel if the pregnancy is not obvious.
