Thanks to hunger, want and scarcity created by the current government! Nigeria is very ripe for business but only the entrepreneurial mind perceives this.

Quitting When Things Are Hard

What else will you rather do than heed Alan Kay’s words which say “the best way to predict a future is to invent it”, another sincere advice lies in the words of Colin Powell stating that “a dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.”

Falling For Distractions

Focus is as important as hard work, total commitment and quality result can only be achieved in a short period of time when distractions are avoided. Even Thomas Edison admitted that his success happened as a result of total commitment, in his words; he said “I owe my success to the fact that I never had a clock in my workroom. Seventy-five of us worked 20 hours every day and only slept four hours and we thrived on it.”

Avoid Time Wasting

Time is an important asset to an entrepreneur; timing and time management should be duly learned and always put into practice by an entrepreneur. Using your time judiciously means avoiding dilly dallying or procrastination, Walt Disney said “the best way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”. An entrepreneur must be smart enough to properly time when to act and when to exercise restraint.

Ignorance of the Nigerian factor.
Lack of suffering (over funding from scratch).
Good idea but no revenue model.
No marketing.
Refusal to partner because of equity.

How do I grow my business my business without focusing on Money when I need to survive also

You must not admit publicly that money (better put, gain or profit) is part of your focus. At the early stage, those who place money above service are mostly frustrated out of biz.

Wanna know why?

The first days of ANY venture is usually painful and calls for so much steel nerves. Profit always comes after sacrifice.

Thanks op. lack of CAPITAL is also one of the main factors that kill good dream of an entrepreneur and our financial institutions are not helping out. Take for instance, I've been to banks to get a loan of 100k to support the capital I have at hand but they had all demanded plot of land or house as collateral. It's just very unfair that there's no provision of such institutions that can offer loans to prospective entrepreneurs.
