In the wake of breaking their record to secure the service of Atletico Bilbao‘s defender Aymeric Laporte, Manchester City have spent an astounding £225million on defenders alone. Or on the other hand what is the same, the Etihad outfit has outspent 52 Countries budget of defence. Only few clubs spent £300-£400m on two players. We spend it on six players,” Guardiola defended the enormous money splashed on defenders at a press ocnference for Aymeric Laporte’s unveiling. The £57million paid for the Athletic Bilbao star expedites City’s total spending on their defence line to £225million. As detailed by ‘inews.co.uk’, that is more than what 52 countries committed to their yearly defence spending plan in 2016. The signings of Benjamin Mendy for £52m, Kyle Walker for £54m, Danilo for £27m and goalkeeper Ederson for £35m, added to the £57m paid for Aymeric Laporte, put the Cityzens ahead of 52 countries as far as spending in defence. U can't blame City, d market is so inflated ryt now, no thanks to d Neymar deal by PSG.. We all know if a normal Arsenal would not pay more than 20 player on any one player but in dis transfer window alone dey have had to break their transfer records twice .. Arsenal have spent more than 100million on attack in one window alone, more than Wenger has spent on d same attack in all his years as an Arsenal coach |

eTECTIVe:What happen to financial fair play ? According to UEFA, FFP is basically about improving the overall financial health of European club football. Seriously it all doom for football, players don't have that passion anymore as wages and transfer fees spiraled upwards as a result of enormous money flowing into the beautiful game. Such is the resentment towards players earning huge wages but failing to deliver on the pitch and managers are facing criticism from the fans, players and club owners. |

Man City is virtually owned by a country, what a ridiculous analogy. Seriously i love Pep Guardiola's football philosophy but he's ruining the game. honeric01, semid4lyfe, lalasticlala |

I am more worried about Arsenal Fc. Arsenal players... carrying badluck around like 'gala'. •Chamberlain to Liverpool: (man city 5:0 Liverpool) •Sanchez to Man United : ( Tottenham 2:0 man Utd) • Geroud to Chelsea : (Chelsea 0:3 Bournemouth). Don't blame Wenger alone, the players too are part of Arsenal failure |
