This game of blaming 'Fulani herdsmen' for every crime is getting ridiculous that only fools would remain purveyors of such. It is one thing that a crime is committed for which the criminal needs to be brought to justice. It is another to falsely accuse some tribe and conclude on the crime prior to investigation.
Not even Nigeria's multiple award winning station, Channels Television is free from that. It reported an obvious case of oil bunkery which doesn't have any connection to cows and crops and added that 'suspected Fulani herdsmen' were behind the murder of an NNPC official. When one of its interviewees pointed out that the unfortunate incident wasn't a clash between herdsmen and farmers, they quickly cut short the reportage.
This is an incident that had been occurring before. We are not unfamiliar with pipeline vandalism. But in the spirit of the trend, it's Fulani herdsmen. And once you say 'Fulani herdsmen', the non-investigation ends there.
A gateman killed his boss in Delta State. He suddenly became a 'Fulani herdsman' as social media users describe him. This is a label to just demonize some people.
The other day, Chief Olu Falae's 40 hectare farm was burnt by suspected herdsmen, according to media reports too. No pictures. No videos. We were told that 10 Fulani men destroyed crops on the farm before burning it to the ground. 10 people? 40 hectares? How did they do that without being stopped or caught? Does it mean there were no security officials around the farm? So many questions unanswered but we can only say that some Fulani herdsmen did it since that's all we hear.
Fulani people are not necessarily herdsmen. There are farmers and people in other trades among them. When these people fall victim of the similar failure of government in providing security, everyone pretends as if nothing had happened. Then, the tribe of the other perpetrator is not a point in the news. It's turned into some sports of counting the number of casualties on each side.
It's shameful that government failed in its basic duty of protecting citizens. It's more shameful that the media is complicit in escalating tension too stylishly. I only wish the truth had a tongue.

Wow this is wonderful, am very happy to see this. Now Benue pple are preparing for war but my advice for them is not to sleep with 2 eyes close but rather close 1 and open 1 because this Animals call Fulani use to attack in midnight.

Some immature minds commenting up there are unaware of what they are calling for. The fulani people can do worse damage to those communities than the communities can do to them. It is better they stop this now before they start something they cannot end.
Forget it. Let us see how it will go......

This is how Plateau people started and after it became too much for them, they had to embrace dialogue. When we speak, people think we support fulani herdsmen. What i know about fulanis is that they will always come back for revenge even if it is after 100 years and what they will do will be devastating.

The best solution to this is to identify the various fulani communities in these states and hold their leaders responsible in case of any perceived fulani attack on farms or people. This way, they will help fish out the real perpetrators of the killings.

And I repeat, attacking these guys will only lead to more deaths, the fulanis have nothing to lose because they have no land and houses but the locals have a whole lot to lose.. Let wisdom prevail.
As long as the Fulanis control political power, they will always be protected to commit reprisals and even attack those who did not attack them.
All you need is a neutral leadership that will not sides with any group unlike the current joke in Aso Villa

Wrong caption.

These were the villagers burnt by Fulani terrorists herdsmen.
And you would be among Nigerians crying mornings and evenings that there is injustice in the land! Turning the truth in the head, typical.

Funny. You had nothing to say about those who killed those seven Fulanis, like how to hold their killers responsible.
Your comment was on how to hold Fulani leaders responsible for the perceived revenge. Nigerians, funny set of people.

how many Fulani's have been held responsible for the crimes they committed in the past? how many have been held responsible for the killings in January? even their leaders came out and practically admitted committing the crime but none has been arrested.

Correct yourself. The people in plateau got wiser, got guns and Fulani attacks ceased. U obviously don't live in Jos, and you seem to be one of those drumming war drums about how Fulani are good at killing so others shouldn't try them. Some people are renowned as skilled artisans, some traders, others academics. The Fulani proudly proclaim to be the best murderers in the land at every opportunity, and clearly enjoy it. Make no mistake, a man that sneaks up on you at night, shoots and runs away is an effing coward, not a warrior.
