good day all,pls my car was park for like a week now,wen i ignite the car this moning it indicate red from the dashboard.i gave a cal to my mechanic nd he said the batree is dead,whic i tought it can b boost again.but he said i have to buy new one,pls what can posibly be the prob.

How can we help when you haven't stated the type of car here.

When did you buy the battery?
Has the car given any signs of battery problems before now?

Ok. Hope you are much better now? It's possible for a battery to die that fast if the battery is old and/or if there's something consuming reasonable amount of power when the car is idle.
That said, it's better you attempt recharging the dead battery first before considering a replacement.

You are welcome.

Check charging system and ensure Battery is properly been charged by your alternator. Alternator first, battery comes in later.
