Well it all depends bro. For instance, say Barcelona wins the UCL and Germany wins the World cup...i don't think Any German player will be voted winner over Messi, Or City wins Ucl and Neymar Wins the World cup...then here the World cup should come into play. It all depends

except Germany don't have a stand out performer and win it as a group, if not if a player constantly steps up like ballack and takes them far then that player deserves it (like it was clear about James Rodriguez with Columbia).

it's becoming an insult to the world cup when it's star performers are neglected in such awards. it makes it seem uefa is bigger than FIFA.

even if Barca wins UCL and messi scores a 100 goals but Mexico win the world cup. let messi be second and a Mexican player be first. the competition needs to be respected. if one is not the best player in the biggest football tournament in the world then such one doesn't deserve to be the best in the world.

Pique finished the game with some discomfort in his knee..His recovery would be monitored and he is a doubt for the Chelsea game.

anyway I get what your saying, so far this season the top 3 contenders due to club performance is neymar, messi and kdb then maybe salah, harry Kane.
