The Fall Of Opera Mini.. Any Capable Replacement...??? by timijoseph01(m): 8:58pm On Feb 06, 2018
It's no more news that our most loved browser for several years is fast losing its credibility..
I actually thought I was the only one getting frustrated with the recent updates of Opera Mini browser until a topic made front page to reflect the frustration of other Nigerians too and even Worldwide on the Android PlayStore User Comments..
Our great browser is now congested with Ads, and WebPage crashes at will (goal.com lovers can relate)
.
I have been a die-hard and loyal Opera Mini user for over 10years.. Even before the arrival of android phones in the Nigerian Market.. Back in the days of Nokia Java phones to Symbian phones, Opera Mini has always stand out..
Known for its
1) Simple GUI (Easy to Use)
2) Quickness
3) Ability to work under poor network condition (Nigerian Glo Users can relate)
4) Smart Display of WebPage (Just open nairaland on Opera and UcWeb then compare the two)

.
As it stands now I have not been able to find any worthy replacement for Sir Opera..
Although there are several other browsers like
Chrome (for opening desktop pages)
Uc browser (for heavy downloading)
which are cool too but I don't see them a DIRECT replacement for Opera Mini..
.
So the Question is.. Have you any browser capable of taking the place of Opera Mini..?
Do let us know..

Via browser has everything you'll ever need in a browser and it's very light, just about 450kb.

Use the stock browser of your phone. Data is now cheap, airtel 1k will get you 1.5gb

Nobody asked you the phone you're using oga. It's possible that you're using the cheapest phone among the people that have commented here yet you don't see them brag about it so kindly stop disturbing us with your Tecno marketing, it's annoying already.

Thank You.

But the point is Chromium based browsers like Yandex, Chrome, Mozilla, Phonix or whatever... are cool but suck data a lot because they load every content of a webpage most of which are not needed.

@OP don't mind what people are saying only few people can meet up with the data requirements of these browsers.
Opera mini is cool and decent. With Extremely high data compression.
Unfortunately Ads is making it unpleasant.

Many people dey form chromer na lie.

If you open a lot webpages in a day. You'll understand that Chromium browsers are not cool for 1.5Gb per month Sub.

Bottom line. No replacement.

Modified: Say you dey use chrome no mean say you don make am. If you open less than 10pages a day and you're forming chromer waka pass.

I opened businessInsider with Yandex browser aswear almost 4Mb went. Just a page ooo...

Even at that. If you have a data meter. You'll see that there is a hidden data taken at start-up.

The ADs is a big mess!!!

Opera News is a STAND ALONE app,, which means it's a different app entirely which can be downloaded on PlayStore too...
Ironically, Go check the Review Comments of the latest Opera Mini,, people are now giving the latest Opera mini a very low rating all over the World due to the numerous ads on it..
Its actually funny this is coming at a time Opera just introduced an Ad Blocker only congested the app with ads itself.. So pathetic
