Lesson 1:

Since McDermott first presented his paper in Estonia last fall, Russia has shown off its electronic warfare skills in combat once again, this time in Syria. In early January, a still-unknown party launched 13 armed drones against the Russian HQ at Hmeimin airbase and against the Russian naval base at Tartus.

In contrast to previous attacks by old-fashioned mortars that killed two Russian servicemen, none of the drones reached their targets. Seven were destroyed by the Pantsir (Shell) anti-aircraft system, which fired expensive missiles at the cheap drones. The other six were neutralized electronically, which could mean anything from sending them false commands — a hybrid cyber/electronic warfare attack — to old-school, brute-force radio jamming of their GPS receivers or control links so they couldn’t navigate.

This reminds me of Trump's 59 Tomahawk cruisemissiles grin

Whatever the EW technique used, it was effectively free. The attempted drone swarm attack (is) way better than a snap inspection (or) simulating it or trying to exercise,” McDermott said.

It was clearly a layered defense integrating jammeres with radar and anti-aircraft missiles, agreed Samuel Bendett, a CNA expert onRussian military technology. “In this case, the 13 drones were located, identified, then jammed/hacked, (and) those that broke through were destroyed by an air defense system – all long before these drones reached their intended targets,” Bendett told me.”What’s evident now is that Russia’s plan to more closely integrate their EW forces with air/missile defenses is coming to fruition.”

Lesson 2:

In Ukraine, for instance, Russian electronic warfare units not only jammed international monitoring drones: They also worked intimately together with Russia’s own drones and its dreaded rocket artillery batteries. Russia EW would jam some Ukrainian communications and triangulate others, finding possible targets that the drones would confirm before calling in a crushing barrage.

Lesson 3

Besides enhancing traditional heavy firepower operations, Kofman said, EW also gives Russian commanders the option of “non-contact operations” to jam, blind, disrupt, and demoralize the enemy without ever firing a shot — indeed, without ever violating NATO territory. Such blurring of the lines between war and peace to create a “grey zone” has become a Russian specialty in recent years.

Now, pay attention while reading this part grin

Without the means to fight back in kind, NATO has no good choices against such grey zone tactics. Deescalate and you let Russian get away with whatever bullying, subversion, or outright annexation it was trying. Escalate and you invite the Russians to unleash their formidable conventional forces. In short, McDermott said, “on Russia’s periphery, Russia has escalation dominance.”
Hahahahahahaaaaa! grin

we must get the trainer, in fact I think that is 1 out of 3 reasons for the delay despite budgetary allocations 2 years in a row, 2nd and 3rd reasons being PAK Air Force had to fulfil their needs before that of export customers and NAF might be insisting on block 3 huh

Libya forces spotted using Iranian made Ghods Mohajer drone 4 MONTHS AGO

Images released by Maghreb Confidentiel
an online news media indicates that the Libyan National Army (LNA) has acquired the Iranian made Ghods Mohajer-2 UAV. The pictures was taken in an unidentified military base in Libya.
Three countries operate this type of drone: Iran, Venezuela and Sudan so the most likely source would be either Iran or Sudan. The Sudanese military operated a large fleet of UAVs mostly from Iran the Mohajer-2 has been in its service since 2008 more than nine years ago.

Embassy supply run.
Didn't mean to sound snarky; it's the evidence-free conclusions that got my back up.

embassy supply run with an aircraft that large ? How much printer ink do they need at that embassy grin

It wasn’t a conclusion by the way hence the question marks at the end.

3 out of the 5 men of the mujah/id brigade across the border seen here were shot dead by the sniper.

Personally can't verify, and a good sniper would have got all of them.

If u were the sniper at what order would u have selected the 5 targets so that the targets can't get behind cover.
Hmmm, interesting tactical question! Its obviously in a valley so we can assume wind is low. He and his spotter must have already read the distance but I'll take a wag (wild arse guess!) and say its at least 400 m. Shooting downhill is always tricky so they should know the slope angle to properly account for bullet drop. Reading their body language they're all completely unaware, tactically asleep like guys in the shower which will give the shooter maybe another second or two which makes a big difference if he's using an automatic-I recently saw one of your guys with a PSG 1 .
Go for the guy farthest then the guy at the foot of the bridge on the far side. The guy in the middle is dead far from either side without cover;he's the 3rd to meet Allah. By now the 2 jokers by the big rock have realised what's happening and are trying to becoming invisible on the far side of the boulder. He can change pos to get a good angle.
Btw,is this the Israeli rifle cam in use?

If you go on to SA civilian plane-spotter forums, you'll see C-17s, A400m, A330 MRTTC, C-130s, Il-70 etc doing embassy runs.
And yes, in the 21st century embassies have much more than post and printer ink to protect. The diplomatic bag has always been a fiction.

EDIT: The Algerians always time it nicely: their Hercs do an embassy run and then when needed, go to Denel Aviation for MRO milestones so they don't have to pay Denel to fly and house staff in Algiers.

About the cam no idea, army still using dragunovs and galils .

Have zero knowledge on sniper tactics , but I would go for the two guys near/on the rocks they r very close so quick to finish them off, after that the guy at the foot of the bridge , then the one at the farthest end and then the one on the bridge.

I asked the question just to see how somebody tackles the situation in his/her way.

I guess if we come to face such situation we will know for sure if we r right or wrong in our assessment.

The guys were there to get water.

In Kenya is conscription implemented or is it voluntary ?
