*DO YOU THINK CORRUPTION IS NIGERIANS BIGGEST PROBLEM* ![]() nope..... I disagree to some extent........ There is no country in the world today that is not corrupt...... (Saudi, Israel, Germany, USA, Russia, UK, Ghana, Sudan, Egypt .......) And America (USA) is on the top of the list..... Because They do theirs with guns..... They come in The name of peace and stay in The name of order and stability.... Look at all The countries America had helped to destroy..... But that aside.... Do you see an American coming to Nigeria to look for work despite all the corruption.....? NO!!! Do you see an American saving his or her looted funds in Nigeria NO!!Do you see an American recruit *incompetent* people for The job simply because he is my brother, she my girlfriend, his my uncles friend son ..... The list is long.... NO!!!SO OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NOT CORRUPTION, OUR GREATEST AND PERHAPS ONLY PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY IS *STUPIDITY* sorry for that bitter truth but we are all in the boat....... We are loyal to the party more than the country our party serves even when the motive of such party starts to become anti positive to the nation....... Hmmmm..... We think we have the brilliant minds amongst us but still we fail to move forward with all the brilliance........ Hmmmmmm We want to be developed like the western world's but we not ready to do exactly what it takes to get there....... Imagine you putting some one that sees the western world only in The TV in their house in charge of development.... Even someone who lived their is not capable... Why It takes some one with a medical skill to perform am operation... So we don't just assume because he works in the hospital as a cleaner or receptionist that he or she is capable of carrying out an operation..... BIG NO NO!!! If I lied, have we done anything different from what I have said....... If not then our problem is as I stated earlier *STUPIDITY*........ STUPIDITY is the beginning of failure in any democratic world.......... God help us to help ourselves..... Amen

This is like asking "Can i see without my eyes?" Corruption is the main reason for Nigeria's underdevelopment but rather than stupidity i think tribalism has caused more harm to the growth of this contry. For example, a corrupt Jonathan will never be held accountable by his supporters in the south-south and south-east. Also, a corrupt leader like tinubu is being celebrated in the west without his tribes-men asking questions. So you see, its not curruption, its tribalism. To make u understand more, take for instance president Buhari. Even if he is caught stealing in a market square in Kano or Katsina, it will be swept aside and still be worshipped. I know this country makes you feel bad but personally i doubt we can really make progress as a nation because we do not have fearless leaders that can make real change. |

I agree, corruption is a problem in Nigeria, but not the biggest problem. Tribalism is a problem too, but not the biggest problem. Like has been pointed out repeatedly, leadership is a problem and indeed the biggest problem. A powerful leader, with vision, wisdom and courage ... Will navigate all these challenges and deliver a functional, cohesive and successful Nigeria. |

3 problems listed here Corruption Tribalism Bad Leadership All these strive in a system where accountability and justice process is poor The basic truth is that applying the same justice system and unitary hierarchy to millions of people of different cultural setup is almost impossible America understood this and decentralized the justice system. The only solution to Nigeria problems is restructuring or strictly devolution of powers to the states In that arrangement, we can more effectively hold our local leaders to account Take for instance Kogi, the governor doesn't care about the people because he knows Abuja can secure his job. Cut that undue Abuja advantage and you see the people empowered to tackle the issues of Tribalism, Corruption and bad leadership locally For the last comment, we don't need powerful leaders, we need powerful efficient institutions, and this can only be guaranteed if there is true power at the state or region level |

NIGERIA IS NIGERIA'S PROBLEM. A HOUSE BUILT ON FAULTY FOUNDATION CAN NOT STAND. A COUNTRY FOUNDED JUST ON "ADMINISTRATIVE COVENIENCE" OF WHO? OF A ADULTROUS MAN AND HIS CONCUBINE. FOR HIS QUEEN, WHO LIVES MILLION OF MILES AWAY. I KEEP SAYING IT NIGERIA IS BBC: BRITISH BUSINESS CENTER. AND THAT PROBLEM STARTED IN 1885 YES THAT BERLIN FRAUD IS WHERE AFRICA WAS COMMERCIALISED. NOW BACK TO NIGERIA. THE NORTH WHO INHERITED NIGERIA SAW THIS COUNTRY AS A BUSINESS CENTER TOO. IN A NUT SHELL NIGERIA PERSONAL AND SELF INFLICTED INJURY STARTED 12 DAYS AFTER INDEPENDENCE BY SIR AHMADU BELLO SARDAUNA OF SOKOTO |
