Hey man, You can't really study the materials offline. The thing there is you can only download the pages with links to the external resource but you can't access the main material without internet.
Thanks bro

Please am having issues accessing the homestudy materials offline. I followed the download instructions, installed web server for Chrome and all. But it still loads a blank page. I'd appreciate a solution

Basically, it's timed, and you'll have to submit it in 4hrs.

nobody.

I started mine for cycle 29 on the 21st of october 2017, submitted on the 27th of October 2017 and I started a week after receiving the email because I had to go for a conference ......I got to bootcamp.

even if you submit in 30mins then your algorithms need to be more efficient than someone who submitted in 1wk.

you can still submit after 4hrs....guys take your time to do the home study assessment.

it is good you submit on time also, because someone who submitted in less than 4hrs with a good algorithm have a good edge.
Re: Andela: IT Training And Job by collinic: 3:49pm On Feb 02, 2018
I am no longer understanding what is happening here ooo which one that submitting on time counts again. On the mail Andela sent, they specified Finally, note that the test needs to be completed by March 9th, 2018. The last time I went to the interview I submitted after 1week and I got an invite, which is 4hours count and interviewer saying. Though, I have submitted, but people should please take there time and work on it.

I was able to submit fast because I have been preparing for long. Please the deadline is 9th March check your mail!!!!!!!

Yeah, the deadline is March 9th but if you start the test, and the test timer starts counting, the time will continue to count until you submit the test. Normally you're expected to complete it within four hours of starting the test, But I just realize the timing doesn't really matter.

Notice the timer turns red once it passes the 4hrs time.

Someone should confirm, I just received an info from someone that these are the technologies Andela is using for the bootcamp: React or Angular, Postgressql or MongoDB, Nodejs, ExpressJS.

Hi, I decided to comment on here to clear some misconceptions because unlike some of the people that comment I actually got into Andela and have been working for almost 6 months.

People come from as far as even Kano, there is a guy from Ghana here so it is not unusual for people to travel far. I don't want to agree with the statement saying Andela lied to you although they do have to remoulf their initial statement to newbies. It is a misconception people have that you can pick up code today and get into Andela (when they first started this was what they used to do), people have to understand the pillars have moved drastically over the space of a few years. The standard that comes in and applies is definitely higher so with that their philosophy had to change a bit (remember they take the best). The truth is when i started i didn't know any of the concepts mentioned above (no Javascript, no React), i had done C#, some SQL and a bit of HTML and CSS but when i came in and saw what i could be if i got into Andela i was determined to give 100%. I told myself it was this job or nothing (got in after my first try grin) so i pushed myself to beyond my limits (body especially) so i could get in and I continue to push myself every day now React, Redux,Typescript, Node JS and the list goes on lol.

The advice I can give you is:
- Go out and learn, look on twitter they are a lot of Andelans on there.Look at their repos see some of the stuff you can learn (git naming conventions).
- Adopt a learn first mindset for all types of code (Understand what you really want to achieve when you write out a task).
- Adaptability (be adaptable don't just select one language and think it is this language or nothing).

I will pass by to check on people's progress if they have questions I can answer.

Good day sir, I'm a newbie to coding and your post really inspired me. I have some questions and also I'll appreciate your guidance. Pls how can I contact you

Nope node js and sequelize all which you can be learned quickly if you are already doing Javascript.

Hey guys, how's it going ?

You guys going to bootcamp need to get your APIs working. You also need to realize that you could be a badass developer and not get in... You need to meet deadline or reach out (with valid reasons) if you cant. You also need to take and implement feedback. I didn't know react/redux while at bootcamp, learnt those after I got in... but I think that's changing now, not too sure. And I did the More Recipes app.. with PostgreSQL, Express, React/Redux and Node. I think these are the technologies you should focus on. I hope someone finds this helpful.

Cheers.
