that's ophthalmia neonatorum.... which is a form of conjunctivitis and a type of neonatal infection contracted by newborns during delivery. The baby's eyes are contaminated during passage through the birth canal from a mother infected with either Neisseria gonorrhoeae or Chlamydia trachomatis

Ignorance is a bigger disease. The kid can be easily treated in Nigeria.

Probably just Ophthalmia neonatorum. Although a serious infection, prognosis is very good if treated early. People fear what they do not understand.

Ophthalmia neonatorum should not be a life threatening or even sight threatening condition.
With appropriate antibiotics, it should clear in a week or so.

Exactly. Acute congenital bacterial conjunctivitis knowm as ophthalmia neonatorum caused by neisseria gonorrhae. Treatment should be started immediately or the infection will spread to the cornea and render the child blind in both eyes.

Absolutely! a strong dose of Antibiotics will clear that shitt! in 14 days! it sad the poor child lose her eyes for a treatable infections.
