But honestly what is all this inciting of this herdsmen issue by the press, individuals and groups. Ever since i became aware of my environment as a kid, I have always known herdsmen to wander with cattle, for grazing and water. They have wandered across the country since pre independence and we have had no issues or marvelled at seeing them on our street or fields. I wonder how this right here becomes news. If they wander in the daytime, people would still talk. Since we want sensational news, lets discuss on a no brainer. |

AuntLaVIV:Those cattles obviously belongs to one igbo man in Anambra, the herders àre just helping him to walk the cattles. I have a maternal uncle who has a flock of cattles and he hired Fulanis who are working for him. |

This is not really news anymore. The herds and men move around every night especially around Finotel (if you know Awka)....every night. The Governor and government officials see them and nothing is done about it. It only feels like there's peace until it happens so don't ever think that they aren't in every part of SE |

AuntLaVIV:Aunty these were the cows that have been paid by butchers from various abattoirs in Awka (Kwata), Amansea, Nteje etc. The herdsmen walk those animals on foot by that time of the night, by 4am, they have got to their destinations. It is never a threat; it has been that way for long. |

The problem is that through this night grazing, these herders will end up destroying anything they find then they will move to a distant place by morning and people will only have to speculate as to what or who committed the damage. By this time, all that can be said is mere allegation because the harm was done in the dark of the night, off human sight. Its just because 'others' are the sufferers of these herdsmen menaece, otherwise the northern leaders would not have condoned nor accepted this shit. |
