Looking thru your posts on here, you seem to be a matured responsible fellow, if it has been one of dis indomie generation kids, i wouldnt have even replied. So i should go n buy textbook because i need list of topics. Can you see you are not reasoning properly? The conditions warranting my coming here to ask, you don't know nor did you bother to ask questions... all you can do is to open mouth utter rubbish advice , that i asked for scheme doesn't mean i don't have textbook, i just don't want to teach what isn't "relevant"

What about an Engineering graduate that now believes he's a qualified Physics, Maths, and Further Maths teacher... don't even go there, what most people don't understand is that B. Ed is more advanced than B. SC when it comes to teachable subject, B. Ed had all the courses B. SC had with an advancement of educational courses, and of course B. Ed practiced teaching and likely errors would have been corrected, classroom management, how to understand and handle adolescents and many more psychological courses arebeen learnt

Shebi you don't know that Bsc. graduates ain't trained to teach abi? They might be knowledgeable which I'm not disputing. But when it comes to teaching, please, a B.ed graduate is naturally better off.


Teaching is methodical, it's not about how much you know but how well you can impact your pupils. Besides, a B.sc graduate would need to be given the necessary training before he/she can deliver; how to copy lesson note, classroom management, teaching methodology amongst others.

B.ed is not a course of study but its a training . For example in our Lagos most of the persons who have undergone B.ed are now employed and are teaching all of the B.Ed finisher are employed. If u pursue B.ed. it will nt help u rather would induce in u a feeling of fear in the sense of getting job due to degree limit (Which some of my b.ed mates were facing ).)As a Bsc(ed), you are trained majorly for teaching or lecturing and not for industry. Instead of IT, you do teaching practice, and your project is in Education and not even in your other major course.

IMO, In Nigeria, its better to have Bsc than Bsc(ed) especially if you want to have a great chance of working in the industry.

in summary, its easier for one with BSc to become a lecturer than Bsc(ed) to work in industry.
finally,There is hardly anything that BSC (Social Sciences) degree can get you that B.ED cannot get you, whether in academics or industry. The most important thing is having a good grade, which you already DONT U ARE IN FOR A GREAT SUPRISE.

Education took a nosedive in this country when every Dick, Tom & Harry started venturing into teaching. Little wonder you'll hear graduates saying they can teach 4-5 subjects.

Yes, but someone taught how to teach. Dressing can be learnt by reading, veiwing fashion Tv and watching. Lesson Note is not a big deal, they change with time and as long as you are taught, you can do it.

Flexibility @ the bolded, I will rather employ some like that than employ 4-5 teachers for different subjects. You do whats best fro business.
