This people are in most situations trying to avoid proper compensations to those whose lands and properties will be affected.

These are your insinuations, and cannot be deduced from the news.

Lazy, good-for-nothing savages.
Imagine one of these beasts as President of the country, with an illiterate wife to boot.
That’s why Nigeria finds itself in the present quagmire.

Government opened itself up for this sort of nonsense the very moment it thought of that idea called amnesty. Some of us are from that region but are completely opposed to the nonsense going on there. Can't warships and bombers be deployed for once?

Militancy/Amnesty has made several Niger Delta communities irresponsible. Militants have become role models while militancy is now a job. nobody baths an eyelid when businesses are leaving the region

You should be ashame of yourself if truly you are a Niger Deltan. If some northern plate carrying illiterates at childhood are having their names in govt payrolls when they grow for doing nothing, what is wrong with paying Niger Delta youths whose lands have been degraded and made unproductive for agricultural and other practices due to oil exploration?
Should we be talking about amnesty? Instead of voicing out for resource control, you are here typing nonsense.

Almajiri, is it money made from cows and guinea corn that is making them lazy? Why are you people so ungrateful? Cut off Niger Delta resources and see this country run aground.

This happens mostly in Rivers, Bayelsa and some parts of Delta state. Rivers is the headquarters of wetting the ground by settling "stakeholders" before you are allowed to carry out any project, else they chase you away. I lived there for 6 years.
You hardly hear of this in AkwaIbom, Crossriver and Edo I think.

Bring good projects to the community and stupid, good for nothing youths will demand compensation before the project will be done. No difference between them and almajiris because they'll continue to suffer

1. You're not from the Niger Delta,
2. Niger Delta people are not lazy,
3. Humans disagree on issues every other day,

Re: FG Threatens To Withdraw Funding For Bonny-bodo Road Due To Lack Of Cooperation by InvertedHammer: 2:18pm On Feb 23, 2018
This seems to always be the problem in the ND area. The local leaders expect financial inducements from the contractors before engaging in works in the area. Failure to play ball results in disruption of projects. The same suckers will eventually turn around and bemoan the neglect of their regions pockets.

Things like that won't work here. We're so quick blaming the government. The security personnel won't be able to safe the lives of the workers except you're deploying a Garrison over there.

Than money could be used for projects that will yield tangible results in the long run than paying criminals not to commit crime.

Imagine channelling that money into bringing machines for farming and training hardworking youths in modern mechanized farming. Imagine this money used in massive empowerment programs.

This Amnesty is an endorsement of terrorism and responsible governments should not negotiate with terrorists.

It is this same people that would start complaining that oil companies are setting up their headquarters in Lagos and leaving their region when they'll never stop this nonsense.
I remembered years back when a friend based in Abuja was awarded a contract from the FG to build some structures around Warri area, he had to pay deve before he could mobilize to sight.

Mechanised farming you say? Where? On the environment made useless by oil spillage? Amnesty is not endorsement to terrorism, rather it is a way of relieving the effect of the environment rendered useless while feeding the nation.

Please. You act like if the whole Rivers State is covered with Crude Oil. We have farm spaces from Etche, Tai, Ubima etc. Did you not hear of the Banana Plantation and Songhai farm in Rivers State? Where they covered with spilled Crude?

Clearly you are not from or live in Rivers State.

What is wrong with you? Is Rivers the only state in Niger Delta? When did i say iam from Rivers State? I am a Deltan and I know our challenges when it comes to farming. People are struggling to get land for building you are talking about farming. When you talk of commercial farming, is it 2 acres of land you are talking about? Where is the land in which you want to engage the teeming youths in commercial farming? Go siddon.

Is it for positive reason or negative reason, give land for something better they will say no, northerners will offer large area for any developmental project. you guys should think wise and forget all these compensation and make your environment better. Oyi, Oil Oyi money go finish one day. nothing to show for it.

This is a taste of what the oil companies face, even when they want to do CSR projects. At times I ask myself, what do the Niger-Deltan's want. They want projects.....No, they don't want projects.........They want oney,......No they will fight over that......They want to be "carried along"........No, not all factions are carried along..........
