Move on. There is probably no commercial quantity oil in the North, but there is definitely far more arable land and solid minerals in the North than the South has. Focus on developing available resources and Buhari needs to stop squandering the nation's resources on a basket case.

Barely two weeks after the release of some lecturers prospecting for oil at the Chad Basin, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC,has concluded arrangement to recommence exploration activities at the basin, Managing Director of NNPC,Maikanti Baru,has said.
Oil exploration activities at the Chad Basin was suspended for months due to the abduction of the three lecturers from the University of Maiduguri which raised fresh security concerns.
Baru,who led a team of the company’s top management staff to the Kaduna International Trade fair on Wednesday said the NNPC has discovered four locations in the BenueTrough which has renewed its hope on the prospect of an oil find in the basin and is ready to go back.
“On the Lake Chad oil exploration,we have been working tirelessly and we thank the President for rescuing some of the lecturers that were involved in the exploration in the region.We are going back to the Chad Basin with full force,” He said.

So Nigeria is still searching for oil like blood-thirsty vampires when other nations àre looking beyond it. I wish them goodluck.

Little to nothing. But that's not the point. The point is the North often creating avenues for waste of resources which they do not produce. It's convenient to keep wasting scarce resources on a fruitless search when you're not the one coming up with the money. If it was coming out from their pockets, they'd manage their resources more prudently and prioritize appropriately what to invest money in.

Mr....every state gets Federal allocations. The oil exploration in the North has nothing to do with Federal allocations. No state in the North contributed money from their Federal allocation to prospect for oil. This is a project by NNPC and there is no financial contribution from the North. I can't break it down more politely than that for you.

the manufacturers are telling u that they want to stop, u are here saying another thing. can ur country manufacture car? both electric or fuel
once the manufacturers stop through their govts policy in 2030 the usage of fuel will decrease because like u said some fuel vehicles will still be around.
but the demand will be so low to the extent that oil will become useless because supply will exceed demand leading to little or no profit. by then oil will be giving u the same revenue as fire wood.
so u see that this ur northern prospects for oil is foolish idea and waste of scarce money because in the long run u will not be able to break even

Instead of them to utilise the opportunity of harnessing those solid minerals to gain comparative advantage, but they are busy looking for oil. Crude oil is not the only resources Nigeria is blessed with.
