We build container houses for a living. We are introducing a new package call the max house. The Max House is a 4 bedroom duplex with a living room and dining area, kitchen and store, terrace and private study, with laundry and a pet house.

It comes with all the interior finishes you need, you only have to move in. It will be powered by solar, giving you light 24 hours every day. It is a smart house integrated with Amazon’s Echo speakers, remote controlled switches, automated fire detectors and more.

It is built with a framework of containers and steel, finished with exceptionally patterned Stucco on the outside walls and POP walls on the inside. Its interiors are cooler than in traditional homes, we have provided double electrical insulation, and the house is totally leak proof. This visualization is how its construction will be staged

With 12m, I can get a nice plot of land and build of structures made of cement and blocks of my choosing

You should compare apples with apples. The OP is talking about a duplex. Sure you can do your analysis with a bungalow, but definitely not with a duplex.

Even 4m for a decent bungalow still depends a lot on your definition of "decent"

The only reason 12m works for a duplex is because it is a container house. Otherwise with the current cost of building materials and cost of doing a good foundation, you will end up spending far more if you go the route of traditional construction.

Here is my analysis. Its cost an average of about 120,000/sqm to construct a conventional building.
Conventional building of similar size will cost= 96m2 x 2 floors x 120,000= N23,000,000.
If this container house cost 12Million to build. I believe its an ingenious concept and should be given an opportunity. #Myview

12M can't build a 4bedroom duplex with all this features. Your analysis will only work in places/location where you have a solid ground(and not a raised floor). It can't work in water logged area, and where ground conditions aren't favourable. I have done a little research on container housing, I can tell you, it fits for all location and all ground conditions

My thoughts are, why should I spend 12m in a 4 bedroom container duplex when I can spend it with a 4 bed room bungalow designed to my taste and liking?

been interested in these houses for some years. It is cheaper, only limit is imagination, more durable, burglar wise, it is safer, more spacious, more beautiful if you ask me.
