No day passes without our attention being drawn to the fact that someone is either stealing our funds, has stolen it or trying to negotiate with law enforcement officers after stealing it. Yet we celebrate them for putting us in economic starvation and suffering. Nigerians Mumu too much. This is the only country in the world where criminals are celebrated and corrupt politicians have goodwill whether in office or out of office.

You've said it all: complacent, mediocrity-loving, corruption-tolerating Nigerians get exactly the low caliber of leadership they deserve!

Leaders will only ever be as good as the people who elect them, and if said people care more about which local government or village a leader is from than what he or she believes or has accomplished in lesser roles, it should come as no surprise if the end result is the celebration of minor roads and boreholes as if they were amongst the 7 wonders of the world. It really says something about how alien truly effective government is to some Nigerians that the word "jealousy" should come to mind when anyone sees criticism of this inconsequential nonsense.

I am also asking myself the same question. Having lived in Enugu for close to eight years and traversed that market as a shortcut thoroughfare connecting the old teaching hospital site (UNTH) and the main entrance into the market (lions, lionesses etc will bear me witness), I see absolutely nothing new! Let me shock you further, I left that area over ten years ago! Maybe the op was too excited and failed to capture the " new road(s)"

Happy Christmas everyone.They say there is strength in numbers but It's really sad that out of millions of people in Nigeria, there is only but a few people that are trying their best to make the country liveable which Governor Ugwuanyi is one of these few individuals.But it is indeed beyound imagination to know that under his watch a lot of corruption is going on unchecked.
Let me asume that he is not in the know about it, but let me state it here that his commissoner for lands and urban development is charging a whopping 250,000k (Two hundred and Fifty thousand naira ) each for the collection of Certificate of Occupancy(C of O).This is irrespective of the money you have spent already about (450.000)naira in getting the document pass through various stages of administrative bottlenecks up to the final stage of ready for collection.
I am pleading with Governor Ugwuanyi and all stake holders and security agents to look into this and to allow some of us access to go on and develop our properties and move on as this is stunting the growth and development of our country.
Thank you.
NB : Please well spirited people should help me move this to front page as it will benefit a whole lot of people.
