Abeg ooo who fit solve am...

An electric boiling ring is used to heat 800g of water from 30°c to 90°c in 10 minutes. If 25% of the heat generated is lost to the surroundings and the S.H.C of water is 4200JkgK, the power rating of the boiling ring is?

P.S: I need the workings.

The quantity of heat energy that boils the water = 0.8*60*4200 =201600 J
Since 25% of heat energy was given away. It means 75% was used to boil the water
The total energy supplied = (201600*100)/75 =268800 J

The power rating of the boiling ring = total heat energy supplied divided time taken in seconds
= 268800 / (10*60) = 448 watt

Jamb isn't ready yet for CBT examination.... still far from.Some candidates just finished their exam (9:30pm) @_Blue field school Akute...Just far away from the standard.
