Every progressive economy relies heavily on a powerful and sustainable system of power generation. This is a major determinant of a country’s level of productivity, such that poor generation automatically results in poor productivity levels.

As a country, Nigeria is richly blessed with energy resources, with about 5.284 Trillion Cu M of proven Gas reserve, abundant solar energy in our northern savannah and over 2 Billion Metric Tons of coal in sites deposited in Enugu, Delta, Anambra, Kogi, Gombe and Benue States. It is inexcusable that these resources are untapped while we focus on crude means of power generation.

Ideally, the means of power generation we rely on today known as Hydro power was intended for short term service, currently with the continuous increase in population and industrialization we ought to have advanced to better sources of power generation that meets/exceed our current demand.

Our policy aims at improving power supply by leveraging natural resources such as gas, coal, solar and wind. We intend to build a heavy pipeline across the country to leverage upon our abundant deposit of gas. We also propose to make use of the coal in Enugu to improve our supply of power. Up north, we are going to leverage solar energy and wind power.

Over the years, billions of USD have been invested into power generation and it is a shame that we are yet to boast of 6000MW supply.

We’ve carried out proper survey which forecasts that with Hydro and Thermal Stations to be deployed, the energy policy we propose can produce over 50,000 MW of electricity in 5 years and our strategy is to urbanize about 9 states in Nigeria especially the states across our shoreline. States like Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa and Lagos will become our shoreline energy production zones. Up north, we’ll have our inland energy production zones supporting the shoreline zones.

Adamu Garba is a vibrant and promising Nigerian youth, aspiring for the sit of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the year 2019. You can read his full biography here.

When I see a post or acclaim young vibrant groups or individuals day dreaming of coming out for a post of president in Nigeria I believed that reading is biography is just a waste of time and dead on arrival. Come to think of it , I advice young vibrant individuals to start from councilor or state reps or even Governorship aspirant if their big eye greed is untameable not to talk of a whole President of the worst economic and political nation call Nigeria.

The OP has really said nothing we don't know already. The issue is; how are you going to implement your plans for sustainable power generation?. We already know that there are numerous fossil fuels and renewable energy resources that can be used, but how do we finance such an expensive venture, especially with our current nose-diving economy?, talking of coal energy, are you planning on pulling Nigeria out of the Paris Climate Change Accord, seeing that the instruments of that accord countermands using combustible energy sources like coal to generate power?, you spoke of pipelines across the country, how do you plan on both financing and securing them against sabotage?.

What about the issues on privatization of power assets?, how will you deal with broke DISCOs and GENCOs?, do you plan on decentralizing the national power system, allowing states to have their own grid, generate power and transmit excess to the national grid?.

These are the pressing questions that need answers, not those empty words.
