In Africa, particularly in my beloved Nation, many often associate curses with firstborns...and more often time has put subtle oppression on the minds of the firstborns. But is this really universally true or just a doctrine passed down to us by our Religious leaders. For me I believed that firstborns are strong and loaded with enormous potentials that are craving for expression.

I urge you, if you are a firstborn to read this and share with other first bors for knowledge.

Some Truths about Firstborns

• Two-thirds of all entrepreneurs listed were firstborns
• Of the first twenty-three astronauts, twenty-one were firstborns.
• Of the 1500 first-class graduates of a university, 49% of them were firstborns.
• Fifty-five percent of all Supreme Court Justices in United States have been firstborns.
• More than half of the presidents of United States of American have been firstborns
• The American Psychological Association have had over 50 percent of their presidents as firstborns
• Firstborns were over-represented among fellows of the royal society, the distinguished scientific academy of Great Britain.
There is no scientific evidence, or even basis, for the idea that the order of birth affects genetic makeup. So what remains to consider are environmental factors.

Specifically, could there be any difference about the way firstborns get raised? About the way they got treated by their parents, by the people around them?

There, of course, are lots of possibilities, including being raised by younger parents, which has its downsides as well as its advantages

Three factors particularly stand above the rest when it comes to the probable difference between the firstborns and the rest of the children in the family.

1. Expectations
2. Responsibilities
3. Feedback.
But it is important to note that these factors are not intrinsic to firstborns. They are plainly environment. It is not about being the first born- it is about the presence of these 3 factors when we are trying to raise achievement to high levels

what do you expect when people relied more on religion rather than rational thinking for issue that require rigorous mental exercise. and to think of it this issue doesn't require much mental exercise.

the logic is, as a first born you;
shoulder more responsibility(your brother, sister and even parent look up to you)
sometime there is no one to look up to for advise, you only advise your siblings
you serves as role model And all that stuff.

let think of this, if we should scientifically examine this empirically, let compare and contrast the first born in develop country and underdeveloped countries, rich and poor family.
going by this you will understand that this perception of "first born curse" exist more in the latter.
I think what stimulate this is the environment. so in short reason why you felt first born are cursed is that

1 poverty
2 the socio-political environment we found yourself
3 too much responsibility from the family.

the reason why I'm saying all this is that I'm one of them and I don't believe I'm carry a curse bro

You can imagine the numbers of church programs that portray firstborns as cursed and needing divine intervention. Whereas all we need is Knowledge. Imagine a lot of yound families that lacks this basic understanding would still make the same mistake. We must dismantle the mountain of ignorance and Set people free from all these religious catastrophes
