If you have been following trends on Social media, you would have come across lots and lots of controversy on the new nigerian kellogg's corn flakes and coco pops...

So i went to market to purchase one so as to get a first hand experience of the whole thing and here is my verdict:
Personally, I don't like it. It's nothing compared to the foreign one. The taste is not cool. If i were to use the words of my friends, i would say its trash.
But that is just my opinion, what do you guys think?

I saw this Kellogg's new product too, bought it and tasted it. Its really nice, tho its very much different from what it used to be. That's exactly what they call diversity. We can't keep with the same taste, so they gave us another flavour. Kudos to Kellogg's on this one.

Proper things are always improperly downgraded for the Nigerian populace consumption especially indigenously foreign products and brands!.

It's something to do with our Bellicose Quality Standards/Control Agencies and our Comatose Government Functionaries sleepwalking and busy running governance while in trance.

The toothlessly moribund and non-contemporary nature of our jurisprudential provisions for Consumer Rights too is quite laughable. People get fed trash and they can't protest and get redress?

Anyway, any country where brands like Itel can openly beat chest as "fast-growing, technology brands" is just growing backwards. I won't be surprised to later hear those coco-pops are made from cassava sef!

Tasted the Kellogg's cornflakes and Coco pops and I can say they're not horrible as people portray them to be.

Taste should never be the only criteria to judge food products.

True, there is room for improvement on their products and I hope the Kellogg's management are listening.

Hello Nairaland
I missed you

I tasted this Nigerian Kellogg's when I visited a friend. I think it tastes better, its flakes are actually bigger and creamer than the imported Kellogg's that I know. Overall, my friend said its been sold at cheaper price. I think its okay.

The taste looks good and creamy.

Are all those who approve of the new cornflakes long-time Kelloggs consumers? Cos I find it strange anyone thinks it's comparable to the old, imported product. It's an absolute abomination! The taste and texture is horrible. The local Nasco cornflakes we've had for decades is far, far, far, far better than this new Kelloggs garbage in the market. I can only hope they'll improve.

A total waste of money. I rather stick with my pap any day any time afterall they're all made from corn. Fifty naira pap and I'm full but #200 of that stuff doesn't even feel like I have tasted a thing.

I'm usually a Nasco person but the Nigeria Kellogg's isn't bad at all, looks and tastes different from the foreign own tho but still very enjoyable

The pricing comes into play too, the opportunity of being able to have a decent meal with just about 50 Naira + maybe cost of Milk doesn't come along too often

Before now Coco pops use to be my kids favourite breakfast, but the other day - sent my sister to buy for me and she bought th new Nigerian one. Hmm, it has been tug of war in my house as my kids doesn't even want to hear the name again. I sha told them my money will not waste. We will use fight and finish the one I already bought, after that na back to the original Cocopops.

I cannot turn to a motivational speaker on top drinking Cocopops.

Finally..... Good i saw this!
Talk about taking Nigerians for 'Camels'.
Am a fan of NASCO...anytime anyday.

So i bought the coco pops because of my son. I thought it was rice crisps with cocoa coating undecided
And the pack is way too puffed up...( false sense of quantity). And the travel box it comes in?
Again, i noticed that it looses air overtime and i thought if there is a very good reason for filling it with air, why is it loosing the air?
I called customer care and i was short of being called stupid for making that call. I even sent a mail and no reply till date
This is what we get for spending our hard earned money.

Am still looking for answers

Taste is the strongest factor for judging food, crap is free doesn't mean it should be eaten. It's just terrible especially the coco pops. It's actually supposed to pop, not just seat there like goat faeces. Don't call it kelloggs if it's not kelloggs, don t call it coco pops if its not coco pops.
