Morocco has formally submitted a 2026 FIFA World Cup bid book to FIFA in Zurich on Thursday, its the fifth time the North African country would be bidding to host the Mundial.

Morocco’s file contains details of the country’s sustainable development as well as technical data concerning the country. It includes pieces of information on the stadiums to host matches, transportation means, training sites and accommodation.

The Moroccans are proposing a 12-venue participation of 48 teams. For a FIFA World Cup, the host country must be equipped with stadiums with a capacity of 40,000 for pool matches, 60,000 for the semi-final games, and 80,000 for the final match.

Morocco is planning to build six 40,000-seat stadiums, in addition to a 100,000-seat stadium in Casablanca.

Morocco’s bid is competing against a joint North American effort involving the USA, Canada and Mexico.
