One other politician to be respected is Babafemi Ojudu, who seems to have the political antidote to Fayose. If you want to succeed as a politician learn from these two guys.

But at the end of the day, it's your service to the people, not your political sagacity that counts. Kayode Fayemi did a lot of infrastructural work in Ekiti. Niyi Adebayo was very approachable. Anyone who needed something could come to Government House and see him (I think the Adebayo family has that common touch).

The end point of politics is to touch lives positively. Will people have good things to say about your time after you've left that seat?

Incomplete journalism. He didn't start like this. Do your research very well. Go back to his story of when he went to Ekiti to greet a lady while he was a car dealer in Ibadan. Tell the world about how he started his grassroots politics from a philanthropic angle by supplying people with water in water tankers. How he won the hearts of citizens with his humanitarian services etc.

Its true that the type of leadership matters, but we all know that naija politics is about choosing the better of two available devils. The one with the lesser crime is taken.


Fayemi is still one of the best minds in any 36states governor. But he effed up. And Ekiti people were feeling it already.


To the extent that they had no choice than to vote him out in favour of someone that was impeached 15years ago?


Fayemi wasn't approachable.


It was during campaign that I saw him come down from his convoy and try and catch fun with boli sellers, Amala sellers like Fayose does.


One of the old women selling the boli told him point blank that day at Adebayo that he should stop wasting his time cos it was too late already, the dew has touched the grassblade.... paraphrasing her words. She knew him when he was a kid and his parents etc. so shame catch am that day. she was blunt with the truth in a calm way. He entered his car back with a sullen face. That's when the battle that favoured Fayose was won.... Approachable!!!


Other factors that were given as reasons in the media were all just additive propaganda. Ekiti people just want someone they can talk to and listen to. And it was Adebayo and Fayose that made that the yardstick for consequent Ekiti Governors... till God knows when.


Glad he's back on track@Fayemi.


If any future governor effs up, they might just recall Fayemi again. that's just how the cycle is.

Obasanjo rigged him into power in 2003 when he rigged all south western govs out except Tinubu, Jonathan rigged him into power in 2014. I'm from ekiti and I stay at home. many people can attest to this. This is fayose who couldn't win a senatorial election because he had no Federal might to rig for him

I think the emphasis should be on what works rather than the standard you want to set.


Cos he was working, but he was drawn far away from people. Ekiti people just want padi governor. See I saw all his works and I must say he did well, but why would I go and wait for hours in your wait room and you say you're unavailable after giving me hope that I should come? Not once, not severally.


Besides the market women too, the teachers(dont joke with them in Ekiti. They are so brainy that they had a big hand in turning the masses against Oni, and Fayemi) were all disgruntled at him.


See sometimes, we don't need to make things complicated for ourselves truly.

It's why I understood the true power of the media as written in Tim Lahaye's Censors, that the media can tell the owner of the house what is happening in his bathroom without even entering the house.


Media were very very influential, but Ekiti people were unmoved and they got lashed for it all over naija. Things might have changed now, but we both know that these people are not just peeps that want all the brouhaha. They just need a voice that listens.



The houses that are being demolished all over Ado for the new bridge was initially Fayemi's idea. He wasn't successful despite promising compensation. But allllll of these mud house owners yielded immediately Fayose said he wants to renew the environment.... They love him!!! Imagine if this kind of man existed at presidential level. A northerner particularly.


Nigerians love a man of the people.
