Listen, the people making noise are not the leadership. If it was only the corrupt leaders complaining, then I'd understand.

But the hardship we're facing - what does that have to do with fighting corruption? Rampage of herdsmen, prices doubling, fuel scarcity, increased insecurity, insubordination in his cabinet, appointing old cargo with nothing to offer the country, divisive environment, nepotism, arrogance, callousness, government's uncaring stance for the masses, and so much more.

Every single person is complaining about the hardship during this regime. His campaign promises included: improved security of life and property, consistent light, lower prices and availability of fuel, projects completion, etc. Even the corruption he is reportedly fighting is not really yielding results, even though there are many headlines about money being found - but no headlines about the money being secured, returned, and deployed to help the situation. It's fair to say none of his campaign promises - not one - has been fulfilled to completion, including the "easy" defeat of BH, the "easy" $1 = #1, the "easy" consistency of light, or even the body language of stopping corruption. Ironically, he appears to turn a blind eye to corrupt practices by those close to him.

Presidents come and go, politicians change parties, yet it's the masses that remain hungry - no matter where the president is from. After all the leaders we've had over the years, even the most ardent fan would have to agree that Buhari ranks lower on the list in terms of vision, execution, inclusivity, or nation-building.

Compare Buhari to some of the more visionary leaders we've had. Everybody has their faults, from Balewa to Muritala to Obasanjo to Yaradua to Jonathan, and many others in between, but I'm currently hard-pressed to say: "yes, at least Buhari accomplished this and made Nigeria better".
