Meanwhile, Nigerian government will wait for the western world to spoonfeed them on what to do.

I don't trust this WHO, they may be the one to cause this outbreak through their experiments and also the one to sound the need for prevention and cure
grin grin grin grin grin
Listeriosis is caused by the microorganism Lsteria monocytogenes. This microorganism has been known to be associated with food poisoning and Spoilage especially in meat. I even isolated it last year during the course of my project work.
WHO didn't do any experiment to deliberately unleash mayhem. They are only putting us on the know of a possible outbreak of the disease.

My brother but if you cook corned beef thoroughly, it ceases to become corn beef na grin

I use them as substitute for meat a lot.

But I make sure that they are boiled (at Nigerian standards) which is always longer than the usual.

MRSAs are no joke.

I pity folks who consume processed meats from stores like Shoprite

You're right, though the major risk are from super stores like shoprite and other stores who import their processed meat from SA.
Restaurants are of little concern here as majority of our restaurants deal on fresh meat.
And hey, who says we rarely eat processed meat in naija? Just pay a visit to a superstore, you would be convinced otherwise. I for one patronise them alot

Shoprite shoppers of processed meat should be extremely careful at this time.

For every brand of consumer products made whether in Nigeria, Asia or European countries, Shoprite has every South African version of each. Good business for SA, but bad to our health.

To think I bought a knorr chicken soup powder today made from a factory in Polokwane, North Eastern SA scares me now.

I'm dumping that shit for good.

They are indirectly telling you that they are testing some of their latest biological agents and we are the guinea pigs. How do you think they always know first?
They are always on the know because they constantly carry out researches. This is unlike the scientists we have in Nigeria (myself inclusive) that are not current with emerging diseases and infections probably because we lack the necessary equipment, technical knowhow in the use of these equipment, poor Laboratories, Inadequate funding from both government and private agencies. Lastly, Scientists are not well paid and live of from research grants.

Exactly. They're proactive, we are reactive.
Our research is centred around studying and xraying other research work.

Scientific researches have shown that minute quantities of the toxin could lead to death. We are breathing not by our being wise and knowledgeable because we come across this deadly bio-poisons everyday. It's just the grace of God.

Funnily enough, this is what happens in Higher institutions. Students are allowed to take up research works that have been overstudied. Lecturers as well as students are lazy. These works are just recycled with a very few of them having slight modifications.

Not surprised. I knew something was up after the recent dose of supposedly innocuous vaccinations. It's always the same game plan on the dumb continent of Africa.

The listerine stuff was just a joke, I suppose, cos it is a homonym to listeria. It has nothing to do with the infection.
That aside, while not trying to bad mouth any product, brushing twice daily with your regular paste and rinsing the mouth with warm water after meals is a better mouth guard than any mouthwash. Some of these mouth wash contain chemicals which when used repeatedly, gradually corrode the enamel of the tooth , also causing the gradual browning of the teeth

I wasn't asking because of the infection. I was asking particularly about Listerine.
