I stead of making everything look like "then versus us" why not make the restructuring an all inclusive affair. There is bound to be benefit for every region except may be SE that doesn't produce anything tangible that the country needs to survive. Basically all your agitation is derived from the envy of oil money the rest of the country receives, and all you want is simply to deny them that. However I believe it would be to everyone's advantage if the country is restructured. While the Niger delta would want to control their oil and may be contribute a small amount, the northern states can also tax the food produced in their states. For example my state can decide to collect a 500% tax on every food produce produced and exported down south from the state. |

EazyMoh: ![]() The southern state with port can also decide to collect a 500% tax on every goods that pass through their port. And we south westerners will be food sufficient, rice, tomato, potatoes, beans, yam, cocoa yam, vegetable etc can be grown in the south west in large quantity. |

Omololu2121:What a joke 50 years ago when the North was starting to put its hold on Nigeria, a young officer called Ojukwu went to Aburi Ghana where Nigeria was properly restructured and signed. But when the same North turned their back on Aburi restructuring, who in the south had the guts to pull his people out of Nigeria? The rest of the south betrayed Ojukwu and Ndigbo and chose slavery under the North. The truth about this restructuring thing is that it is only a way to save face for some people in the south. The North will never allow Nigeria to be restructured and the same people who chose to be Northern slaves 50 years ago when Ojukwu was pulling his people out will make the same choice to remain and stay slaves |

imhotep:Why should I be unhappy with the display of stupidity by some folks who believe incitement rather than taking concrete sure steps towards achieving their political goals? Anyone with common sense would know that no one not even the president (if he so wish) can re-structure this country without amending the constitution; as we already all know, this power solely rests with the national assembly (Reps & Senate) who were freely elected to collectively represent us all. It is therefore absolute stupidity for any group to call on the president to do so while overlooking those with the keys and power to do so - i.e. their elected, representatives vested with the powers to change the constitution. Review the all the names of those mentioned and you will observe that they are mainly PDP faithfuls who have lost out in the last elections or trying to consolidate their local strongholds through such emotive divisive rhetoric's, which carry no weight at all other than to incite their followers into hatred. Pls free your brains from the shackles of bigotry and politics of ethno-religious hatred; develop your thought processes to enable you reason and think independently. |

ItsMeAboki:Mister its you cunny liar that needs to develop his thought process. The constitution which the military used to create more states and local government in the north than the south is not the peoples constitution. You parasite knows very well that NASS has more northern members than the south...so getting anything there will be futile. Did you see how they passed NEDC bill but rejected the SEDC? We are no fools like you... |

gidgiddy:aguyi ironsi introduce the unitary system of government in Nigeria, what stopped ojukwu from rejecting aguyi ironsi unitary system of government? When adaka boro declared the Niger delta as an independence state, why didn't aguyi ironsi and ojukwu let the Niger delta leave? Instead they went to war with the Niger delta state. |

GoroTango:Abooki referendum on constitutional changes is different from referendum on self determination. Why una too de fear. Yesterday, your leaders said Nigeria cannot survive without the north. You have massive land mass, agriculture, sold minerals, huge population, yet you are holding on to small regions as small as one of your states. Why. |

Omololu2121:Of course you could, but mind you import duty on Nigeria is among the highest in the world, you can't hike it any more significantly else the north would consider importing through other alternatives. But the South can never be self sufficient in food produce like beef, groundnut, beans and basically any fresh vegetables they consume. Also importing from anywhere else would result to even more than the 500% increase. Consider cost of apple sold in Nigeria due to the doctor that it's imported. Zim essence a single tomato would cost you N100 or more if you decide to import. Anyway I know at the long run the north could even be better off. |

EazyMoh:this is so dam funny ![]() Even without fertilizer, I'm growing bitter leaf and water leaf and ewedu at my backyard. You are making it sound as if only northerners can produce beef, cattle ranch will be establish in the south west, and we don't only consume beef,we have lamb, pork, bush meat, fish, chicken and turkey With fertilizer, the south will be self sufficient in beans and rice, and do you know if Nigeria collapse the north won't still exist as an entity, states like plateau, Benue, taraba, kwara etc might wanna establish a country of their own. The people of the south west were surviving before the creation of Nigeria, we will still survive if Nigeria collapse. We have the industry, peaceful environment, population, land mass and the resources to survive as a nation. Northern Nigeria is more backward than southern Nigeria, when Nigeria divide do you feel southern politicians won't do anything and just let the north over take them. If Nigeria divide there is no way northern Nigeria, Niger republic and chad will be better than the south west, you guys will only be in the league of thosecountries I mention. |

Cooly100:Stop exposing your ignorance. Was the military made up of only northerners or was the constitution not written and presided over by a committee headed by southerners after nationwide consultation? Stop this nonsense bigotry. Do you know that among the criteria for state and LGA creation are population and land mass; do you think that it is reasonable to expect the south to have equal number of representatives at the National Assembly with less population? Politics is a game of numbers and persuasion; if you don't have the numbers and the ability sway decisions by way of persuasion (that is why they have debates in parliament) then you are on your own and have to deal with the consequence. |

Omololu2121:Look at you! Haven't the northerners being surviving before the creation of Nigeria? How much is bitter leaf and ewedu in terms of economic value compared to beef, pkomo, tomato, beans in your diet? Or you want to remind us about the phantom UGU month millions of dollars you people are exporting on a daily basis? With the way you keep blabbing about this restructuring thingy if you were serious you'd have sponsored a bill to amend the constitution. Alas you only started yapping when PDP was defeated in 2015. As far as wise people know it's only a campaign gimmick to hoodwink gullible southerners like yourself in to always attacking the north. |

Omololu2121:And you think these southern coward politicians will ever be ready to face the north in a war?.. Until there is a very strong political unity between the entire south and the middlebelt, we can never face the north or be a threat to them. It just won't happen. And don't forget that there will be many Southern and middlebelt saboteurs who will prefer to align with the core-north because of religion. |

EazyMoh:which kin stupid talk be this sef,is it only northerners that has cows? You can't compare the sort of poverty in the south west with that of the north. Cattle ranch will be created in the south west if Nigeria divide or collapse,I don't even remember the last time I ate beef not to talk of kpomo,I prefer turkey and fish to beef. You keep shouting beef, tomato and beans, cattle ranch will be establish, people that has the money can go into the business of cattle rearing ![]() Tomato and beans can be grown in the south west, ![]() You keep talking about beef, tomato and beans that can also be produce in the south west.we don't just eat beef in the south west we also eat turkey, chicken, bush meat and fish. The south west does not need anything from the north. |
| Re: On Restructuring We Stand, N’delta, Middle Belt, Yoruba, Igbo Leaders Insist by Omololu2121: 6:30pm On Mar 25, 2018 |
Nowenuse:that's why southern politicians need to sit down together and talk,we must let the north know if we can't renegotiate the structure of this country then it's better we all go our different ways,it will be better to do it when we have a southerner that believes in dissolution of Nigeria in power at the federal level. The southern president will start by sending every military and paramilitary personal back to their state of origin, and also make sure he redistribute every weapons equally among the 6 geopolitical zone,if the north do not agree to restructuring, then the whole southern state should declare the south an autonomous country. If there is war it should be the whole south against the north, the side with more money to buy weapons shall win the war. But it's only possible with fresh southern politicians that believes in dissolution of this hell hole called Nigeria. |
