Maybe we should blame GEJ Govt for TY Danjuma asertion

@POLITICSNGR

Mr Lawal Ayoola, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Scandinavia, has urged the Federal Government to take comments made by former Defence Minister, retired Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, on the nation’s security as a wake-up call.

Danjuma had on Saturday at the convocation of Taraba State University called on Nigerians to use whatever means at their disposal to defend themselves against killers.

Ayoola told newsmen in Lagos on Sunday that for a retired general and former minister of defence to have made such an assertion, there was need for government to live up to its billing.

“For such a statement from a retired general, a former minister for defence and a war veteran, obviously, Nigeria is outrightly in an uncharted water,” he said.

According to him, the former defence chief’s statement is a clarion call on the leadership of Nigeria to wake to its responsibility and save the country from sliding to a failed state.

He said globally, the responsibility of any government was to protect and promote the welfare of its citizens, adding “anything short of that is leadership failure.”

“The incessant killings which could be likened to ethnic cleansing if not completely checked and it may definitely spell doom for Nigeria as a country.

“The implications of such reality are damaging to our country both locally and internationally. It is no-brainer that an anarchy environment is never attractive to daily investors, expect only ammunition entrepreneurs,” he said.

Ayoola said genuine international investors might not come to a country without a secure environment.

“Nigeria is currently in need of foreign direct investments and international partnerships for growth and development.”

Do you think PMB will listen to you? Ask Tinubu and you will know you are just wasting your time. The only people the man in Aso Rock listens to are Daura of DSS, His Chief of Staff Aba Kyari, and the Attorney General and Minister of Justice. All Fulani.
It is unfortunate we have a president whose only body language is dangerously in favour of Fulanis at the expense of other tribes in this country. He has successed in making other tribes in Middlebelt and entire South (perhaps with the exception of a segment of Yoruba) to hate the Fulanis.

The way we are going if care is not taken, Nigeria will need help to stop tribal and religious war. The killings in Plateau, Benue, Kogi and Taraba still continue and the man want another four years!?

I saw a caption, northern leaders reject BUHARI, scores him low, and you see some people jubilating over the statement and clicking the like button on the caption.
Who are the northern leaders?
Northern leaders who resides in Abuja.
Northern leaders comprising of Hakeem baba Ahmed(special assistant to saraki), Ibrahim mantu, bala muhammed (former fct minister) under Jonathan, facing monumental corruption case. David mark, Junaid muhammed, haliru muhammed, (who came to court on wheelchair for corruption trial), Tanimu YAKUBU, Ango Abdullahi and some nonentities, some served in GEJ govt and have corruption cases on their head.

PMB'S presidency was not made possible by any northern leader, but the masses who are currently making millions from farming. In fact, during the campaign of 2015, many of the northern leaders, stayed indoors and some ran to Abuja on personal exile, for the fear of been lynched by the grassroot supporters of Pmb.

Ask the so called northern leaders, when last they visited their ancestral homes . They cannot visit home for the fear of being lynched, because of the underdevelopment they brought to their constituents while in government.

All this so called northern leaders don't have electoral value and some have never won their wards in any election. They cannot even campaign for any election and don't even come out to vote.

Gloss over the caption, PMB'S greatest asset are the almajaris in the north and not this expired people, calling themselves northern leaders.

I will understand TY Danjuma's outrage if he was referring to the killings in Benue where the herdsmen are more of culprits than victims. But talking about Taraba where Danjuma's people massacred about 700 fulanis including women and children is absurd to say the least.

The Taraba anti-Fulani pogrom was so barbaric that the military commander GOC Ben Ahanotu, who is Igbo and Christian, confessed to have never seen such 'gruesome devastation' in his entire military career. Children were hacked to death and even pregnant wombs were not spared.

Fulani leaders, through the emir of Kano have since submitted a report with evidence detailing the extent of the destruction on Fulani lives and properties, with video evidence of how officials at the state level (who are Danjuma's people and political boys), aided and abetted the genocide. Danjuma's failure to leverage on his relationship with Buhari to stop the investigations precipitated his outburst.

Danjuma claimed he is not a politician, but Taraba politics have turned this once brilliant soldier and elder statesman into a bigoted politician of the worse kind. We have seen the role he played during the tragedy that befell Danbaba Suntai in his bid to stop Danbaba's Muslim deputy from succeeding his dying and incapacitated boss.

In their desperate efforts to stop Buhari from re-contesting, leaders like Danjuma, Obasanjo and Babangida are eager to destroy a country that has given them everything. Their patriotism only goes as far as their individual self-interests. Given the right political temperature and pressure, those guys have tolerated the worst assault on Nigeria's sovereignty.

What Danjuma and company should understand is, Buhari may go either before, during or after his second term, but Nigeria will always remain. It is the country that gives them everything that will be there to deal with the consequences of their bigoted politicization of national security problems.

The Nigerian military is the sole remaining symbol of Nigeria's unity and neutrality, with its officers and men fighting together, winning, losing, dying and surviving together. By seeking to undermine that institution, Danjuma is directly biting the finger that fed him. At least, the army today is more neutral and less political than the one he commanded after the civil war.

Calling for communities to rise against the state in defense of themselves is an invitation to anarchy and insurrection. No community will be able to do so in a country where chaos and disorder (as Danjuma is preaching) are the order of the day. Ethnic militias will only lead to a vicious cycle of violence that will leave our people more divided, our societies more destroyed and our country more backward.

Nigeria's problems anywhere are Nigeria's problem everywhere. An attack against one single community should be regarded as an attack against all Nigerian communities. No single Nigerian community can enjoy peace in isolation. It is either we survive together or perish together.

Ayo, sadly, your fellow Nigerians will still tell you Nigeria is at it's best under this government. Better advice your fellow Nigerians rather than the president that has a negative vision for Nigeria. Also advice your party to follow the path of South Africa.

One can only hope and pray that one way or another, the security situations improve. All our security agencies as currently constituted can not realistically protect 180 million people. Unless we want to continue deceiving ourselves, we don't have the capacity to deal with Boko haram, Fulani herds men, kidnapping and armed robbery etc simultaneously with an annual defence budget of less than a trillion naira whoever is the President. That is why I believe it will be easier to get those killers and their cows out of circulation by way of providing ranches for them.

So how do you explain the fact that the Army and Police (but especially the Army) seem to collude with the Fulani killers.
It's the same pattern everywhere they attack: Enugu, Benue, Taraba etc.
The Army and Police would usually disappear just before attacks, and appear after the attacks to arrest and disarm the local vigilantes. And they never go after the killers.
Also how do you explain the fact that the security services are controlled by just a section of the country, for a multi ethnic country like Nigeria, with the accompanying rivalry? Is it a coincidence?
Discerning Nigerians should resist Buhari's ethnic cleansing agenda as advised by T. Y. Danjuma. It's your Buhari that is dividing the country with his tribalism. I'm not surprised you are happy with what he is doing. Birds of the same feather.

Nigerians should be allowed to bear arms legally for self protection. This would prevent robberies (especially burglaries), herdsmen attacks and even boko haram kidnappings. There's no way a group of criminals could invade a village and go scot-free if the villagers have guns.

worst killings happened under PDP government before PMB came on board. So was GEJ a Fulani or promoting a Fulani agenda when such killings took place under him? TY Danjuma is pretending he doesn't know what is happening and let him continue to pretend he didn't know he and his gangs who have been looting this country left a very vulnerable structure that will hunt all of us sooner than later. When Buhari gave him the governorship of Taraba over Alhasan ,Pmb was good then but he is suddenly bad . why? Buhari must be doing something special for all the old thieves to be presently uncomfortably expressing their frustrations hiding under their created monster " Fulani herdsmen".

which history? During PDP second incarnate as NPN under Shagari, a terror group called Maitasenne (like Book Haram) unleashed mayhem on some part of the country. It was a bold officer who confronted ,defeated and drove maittasene out of Nigeria. His name is Gen Muhammadu Buhari. So what history are you talking about? History of how worst killings happened under PDP? or how PDP allowed Chibok kidnappers to escape? or history of how Dasuki and co stole defence budgeting thereby sabotaging our national security and frustrating the fight against terrorism ? So which history sir?
