President Goodluck Jonathan is in Lagos with formerUS president Bill Clinton to commission the Eko Atlantic City project before departing to Malabo,
Equatorial Guinea, to participate in the 3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of Africa and South America.

The president is listed among the keynote speakers at the summit which has the objective of promoting political and economic cooperation between the two continents which will take place on Friday, February22, 2013.
Other speakers include the Presidents of Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, former president Lula da Silva of Brazil and the current chairman of the African Union.

The Eko Atlantic City is a multi billion naira land reclamation project along the Bar Beach coastline inVictoria Island. It will be a new home to 250,000 people and the workplace of another 150,000.
The 10 square kilometre development will have waterfront areas, tree-lined streets, efficient transport systems and mixed-use plots that combine residential areas with leisure facilities, offices and shops.

I'm wondering the people that will afford to live in this eko Atlantic. So many empty high rise building everywhere on the island with nobody to rent them. Enough empty houses in lekki, oniru and ajah with nobody that can afford them.

I have noticed that the few Nigerians who are rich are rich because of corruption. Many Nigerians cannot survive or make it in life without corruption. Just look at most of the half educated people holding high posts in this APSH.IT government especially the aboki.s .

If not for corruption how many of them will be in government. Nigeria is a poor country with few retarded elites who cannot survive without massive corruption. We are waiting to see the people that will live in the Eko Atlantic. As usual the bastar.d, cursed, theiving useless politicians.

It's the same thing with places like Banana Island and parts of Lekki. The youngsters on here are busy shouting about how it's a great development for Lagos and are busy fighting online tribal wars. What they fail to realise is that it's a development for the super rich elite which represents less than 1% of the total population. When they start selling the properties having an Olu,Ola,Ade etc as part of your name or being born and bred in Lagos doesn't equal to you getting one inch of land or one cement block in the property. It's is reserved for multimillionaires and billionaires from "anywhere" in the world.
If half of the money used in Eko Atlantic had been spent on creating more rail tracks, better roads,sorting the apapa port road mess, improving electricity, building affordable housing, more security,better refuse collection,more hospitals,small loans to market women then it would have been a great development for Lagos. This is a vanity project aimed at creating more wealth for the already stupendously wealthy. Most other Nigerians can only look but not touch,regardless of your tribe or state of origin.
