Google is ur friend, d only thing similar to both rotation and revolution is movement, but how d movement occurs is different. Google it out and update urself.

For the record, didn't major n geography, intact I have not done geography since I was in sec sch.I learnt about the earths movement in elementary science in pry 5.

That's not new moon but a full moon. A new moon is hardly visible (especially in this part of the world) and when it starts to show, it's in form of a tiny slit called a crescent. A full moon signifies that the moon is about halfway through its course of rotating around the earth. You can google this to confirm.
