Good day to you dear BETTER BY FAR aspirants and i give you kudos for the job well done in your utme exam. But i want you to note that there are different categories of scores for this exam.
Which ever category you fall in, we just want you to know that a high JAMB score is not an automatic ticket to higher institution neither does a low JAMB score automatically disqualify you for admission.
We have seen candidates with high JAMB scores who failed to gain admission into any institution and had to retake JAMB and we have equally seen candidates with low JAMB Scores (Less than 200) who gained admission without having to wait for another JAMB.
So basically, a low or high JAMB score is not the ultimate determinant of who gains and who doesn't gain admission.
So at this point, what we expect all 2018 JAMB candidates to do is to ask the following critical questions?
>> What is my school's cut-off mark ?
>> What is the cut-off mark for my intended course of study?
>> Do I need a change of course/institution?
>> What's the school's Post-UTME Screening like?
>> How Can I prepare adequately for my school's Post-UTME Screening?
The answer to these critical questions will help you know what next step to take towards successfully securing admission this year.
And let's quickly tell you this, take off the retarding mindset that you can not go to a polytechnic. Are they for animals?
If going by your score, you stand a better chance of gaining admission in a polytechnic, for goodness sake, change your institution to a polytechnic if you didn't pick one during your JAMB registration. Unless of course you don't mind patronising JAMB next year. And if that is the case, good luck to you!
Admission Success to you all!.....Also for Unilorin Whatsapp group chat, add me on Whatsapp

*ATTENTION PLEASE*
*HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY GAIN ADMISSION INTO UNILORIN THIS YEAR 2018*

Every student wants to gain admission and while some have been able to achieve this, others have not. *You need to first bear in mind that the University of Ilorin is the most sought after University in Nigeria and Admissions is always very competitive*.

Today, I will be sharing with you some quick tips on how to successfully gain admission into this great University of Ilorin, (UNILORIN). First of all, you need to know that the University is among the top 5 most sought after universities in Nigeria with over 100,000 Jambites struggling to be admitted here every year. *It is also worthy of note that UNILORIN admission quota as stipulated by the National Universities Commission(NUC) is just about 10,000. This number represents exactly 10% of UTME applicants who choose the University yearly*.
The statistics above simply shows how competitive it is to gain admission into UNILORIN. *Therefore, one need not just be intelligent but also smart to make it here*.

Over time, many have failed to gain admission here because they did not choose their course wisely, *I strongly advise that, unless you are a far-above-average student, you should avoid choosing courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Mass Communication, Accounting, Economics, Microbiology etc. This is because majority of the candidates that come for UNILORIN post utme annually choose those courses and only a few of them are admitted while the rest misses out no matter how intelligent they might be as the school can not possibly admit more than it’s carrying capacity for each department*.
If you really just need admission as an average student, simply choose courses that are less competitive. When you are admitted, you may then consider changing over to your dream course or taking it up as a second degree after graduation. You don’t have to keep writing JAMB for the same course every year, try other less competitive courses.

Also, let me draw your attention to the fact that UTME subjects combination matters, Last year, some students were denied admission because of wrong selection of subjects and you need to bear in mind sometimes that University of Ilorin subjects combination sometimes does not usually tally with JAMB brochure combination because JAMB is yet to update their brochure and often times, candidates pick subjects that does not tally with their course, *For Example, when a candidate fill UTME for Accounting under Jamb, H/She will see that it's placed under faculty of Social Sciences which is not so here at the University of Ilorin, it's otherwise under faculty of Management Sciences*

Many have seen the *University as a monster while admitting candidates because you don't know how the University admission is being run and the admission policy and the fact that the admission process is simple* , I have seen Jambites who claim that the Univesity of Ilorin only admits candidates from Kwara state and it’s environs then discriminate against non-Yoruba candidates. That’s a mere fallacy! *The University strictly follows the Federal Government admission policy which states that institutions should admit candidates based on 45% Merit, 35% Catchment Area and 20% Education Less Developed States (ELDS), Remedial case is a different thing for now*. It may interest you to know that a candidate from an educationally less privileged state like Bauchi, Benue, Ebonyi etc. with an average score of 180 stands a better chance of admission into UNILORIN than a candidate from Kwara state with an average score of 240. This is simply because majority of secondary leavers here in the south east, who of course always seek to further their education in the University, usually choose UNILORIN for it’s proximity and great reputation. This large number of applicants end up competing for the few available admission space for catchment area whereas the very few candidates from education less developed states who choose UNILORIN end up having more admission space than they can possibly fill (keep reading).

*Does it interest you to know that University of Ilorin Admission is based on Merit but not "pure merit? Do you know that the University of Ilorin supplementary list admission is far more competitive*? Do you know that JAMB and Post UTME scores are also requirements for admission here? Please, Be informed that the University of Ilorin will still conduct Post UTME this year 2018. Do you know you can still gain admission with your low score in JAMB? Does it interest you to know that you can gain admission irrespective of the fact that you failed JAMB. Call or chat me on WhatsApp for enquiry...07039198446

POSSIBILITY OF SCRAPPING POST UME AND PEGGING OF CUT OFF MARK AT 180

Following some of the decisions taken at the 2016 JAMB Combined Policy meeting which include the official announcement of the 2016 cut-off mark as 180 for Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of education and the scrapping of Post-UTME, many candidates are asking a lot of questions with regard to how the admission process for this year is going to run.
Having examined the situation, we would like to point out some factors that may likely come in to play in 2016 admission process.
First, one thing that will likely be a fall-out of this new development is the fact that the cut off-mark of top institutions like UNIBEN, UNILORIN, OAU, UI, UNILAG may shoot up to 220, 240 or even 250. However, no institution will go below 180.
The responsibility of placing candidates in schools will now reside with JAMB. However, JAMB has to first confirm the requirements of institutions before placing candidates in such institution. For instance, if UNIBEN decides that its cut-off mark for this year is 250, it is only candidates who applied to study in UNIBEN and score up to 250 will secure admission.
Similarly, since the bench cut-off mark is 180, JAMB may decide to re-distribute candidates who scored up to 180 to other institutions (who knows, it could be a university, polytechnic or College of education since they all have the same cut-off mark) if the institution they originally chose have reached its admission quota or if such candidates UTME score fall below the set cut-off mark of their specific institutions.
The scrapping of Post-UTME does not necessarily mean that institutions cannot conduct other forms of screening, it only means they cannot conduct another form of examination similar to UTME. So schools may decide to use oral interview or verification of documents to screen candidates.
The scrapping of post-UTME will equally save candidates the cost of purchasing their school's post-UTME form and going through the usual hassles associated with it.
However, all these factors will be expected to play out when ASUU, ASUP and NCEE accept the outcome of the 2016 JAMB Combined Policy meeting.
Since these bodies are yet to express their stance on this, we will only wait to see how it plays out at the end of it all.
Now, lets know your opinion on this or what you think the admission process will be like.

UNILORIN ASPIRANTS CAN NOW OTHER FOR THEIR PASS QUESTIONS HERE

It is no longer new that UNILORIN has always been the most subscribed university in Nigeria. last year 2018 Unilorin screened over 39,000 candidates for admission, Unfortunately only 60% passed the screening the remaining 40% which is over 14,000 that failed will have to sit for the exam this year again.
If you are among the 40% that failed last year or an aspirant sitting for this exam for the first time, never you fail this screening again!!!
Harness the power of these past questions by studying the questions thoroughly and you will never regret this I repeat you will never regret
