That is solvable. What is the procedure to register a new political party? If there is none, perhaps that's where the change should begin. They say madness is when you keep doing the same thing, expecting different results. See, when there's competition or other options, politicians try harder to please because they don't wanna lose votes. If you think you got what it takes to move your country forward & challenge the status quo, start your own political party. Study the demographics in your country. Is there more youth than old people? That way you'll know your "target market". Once you've achieved that, the next step is to make sure that your party values reflect the hopes & dreams of your target age group. Parties like EFF have done just that. They were smart about it, they're targeting the youth & gaining new members with every failed term by the majority party. They even have a "trendy" uniform, to make sure that the hooks go even deeper. Take all of that into consideration if/when you think of coming up with a party of your own.

Very true. I totally agree with you but what am saying is "the solution is not in get you pvc" as they keep preaching.

But the governor is right, the youth are are only celebrating mediocrity, no talent to showcase the organizers are only after money from people votes.

Ha! I wish iylt was that simple. You see how logical people are torn to shreds in this forum for being sane. The problem is not the leaders. Truth is the people dont like doing whats right. you can attest to that... you see them in your cities. The leaders come from the people. The Nigerian culture teaches you to take and take and give nothing to the society in return. It teaches that you do whatever you like irrespective of how your actiobs affect others. With this mindset they expect to grow. With this mindset how do you expect the leadership to be any different? Punky its really tough. To change this country one has to start a sort of mentorship program on a large scale to teach the upcoming generation the importance of giving back and how to collectively work to achieve aims. Teach them that money isnt everything. Maybe then we will get it right but even if you contest and win, the same people who voted you to end corruption will call you a fool of you dont steal.

He said you cannot want to suffer then expect enjoymentbecause when you suffer, you enjoy after... he said something like when you ask people to join in a struggle they start giving excuses like "I dont want to die", "I want to build a house"......and these are problems he has been singing about since the 70s the problems are still here. If I decide to take a stand say go the way of armed struggle, its the same people Im fighting for that will sell me out .

Yeah. The idea is we dont have to get to that stage but when you have people insisting on doing what is wrong and wanting to pass it off as right then Ethiopia (or even worse) becomes inevitable

And u think insulting is the solution to the problem. Beside, this Governor is at his 40s and remains one of the bets Governors with when we talk of performance and peace maintaining in the north. And beside he has politely made a statement and such statement do not deserve a rude response

Let me agree with you I'm just a kid, maybe you're in your late 40's before saying that to me. Everyone seems to have solution to Nigerians problem only to get to the helm of affairs and continue in the same path the predecessors took. Try understanding the dynamics of Nigerian politics, try understanding the difference btw the Blackman and the White man way of reasoning, whites don't vote along ethnic or religious lines, here we do, they vote credibility,here we vote popularity and my person which other country has 50%christains 50%muslims in the world today like Nigeria? Look deep, and you'll see Nigeria can't be one,our unity is just paper talk. Things can't work this way (Nigeria's current structure and constitution). If Nigeria remains, we might just remain stagnant like dis or keep running round same cycle, Nigeria is a failed British experiment, they can't support its disintegration cause the US n Britain still benefit much from the mess

Some of you are supporting the governor because it's bbn involved and it's obviously not your favourite show. Would it have made any difference if it were football distracting us from the economic downturn of the country? Would the governor have said this and would we have maintained the same stance on the dialogue?

If you want to criticise the youth, be holistic about it. Y'all left the part where he mentioned upcoming tournaments as feasible distractions but focused on bbn when it's even possible the guy himself is more of a football fan than that of bbn.

If the youths are distracted, we are distracted; if we're not, we're not. Don't be selective as it pleases you, that's sheer lack of integrity.
