I saw this while on twitter this evening. At first I thought it was a joke until I saw the information on SON website.

Funny enough Nigerians are unaware until it takes hold because manufacturers and importers are the ones receiving the memo.

This is not something you actually want to announce on TV or radio.

How is 2 naira safety and tracking holograms causing inflation?
Except u are part of manufacturers that imports fake product, adulterated product or expired products, u will not be calling for fight against this policy.
Is it not better for me to pay extra 2 naira on top of product than to buy fake product that will not last long or not even work at all or better still may have adverse effect on my life. I'm suspecting you are an importer of fake product yourself and that is why you are against this policy.

Unfortunately Nigerian youth can't think deeply to see false flag in op's sentiment, they are programmed to hates and they lack critical thinking.

What is the evidence that this is from son, without their letter header paper signed by top official of SON, I doubt this is genuine.

This organization does nothing but take bribes from manufacturers, they themselves lack standards.

Does this means all this while our products are not being authenticated before coming into market?

2 naira sticker for each carton or pack of product or for each sample?

I believe it for each carton/ pack of product.

By the way SON too is corrupt, I once had an experience and I almost couldn't believe it, so seeing a SON logo on any product doesn't really move me.

How gullible and mischievous can we be in Nigeria? Must we throw out anything just because we want to incite the populace against government? My 3 year old boy knows June has just 30 days. Can an established agency of government make this sort of mistake in a publication to manufacturers? 31st June!!! Second base please

If this is rolled out, people will soon feel the full impact. Because importers and manufacturers will have to pay huge bribe to beat deadline. That money will be passed on to consumers to pay.

So will food, drinks, pharmaceutical and other products already approved by NAFDAC be affected too?
FG always does things with very little transition periods. This encourages sharp practices.

now you can undetsyand why the rich get richer, some organization will be exempt from PAM, these orgs import large quantity of items into the country, they no taxes, or custom duties, the relevant agencies instead of collect their unpaid duties from these orgs prefer to punish the smaller companies that are struggling to comply, why eont these businesses die off.

inorder to prevent an early demise the final customer must be punished with higher prices for goods and services and lower value from them.

welcome to real econometrics of wealth creation.

When you start manufacturing you will appreciate the value of 2 naira amongst other expenses and tax already being paid by producers

yes your kind it is that don't seek info but say things as if they knew anything but they don't. your question that how can 2 naira cause inflation is sources stupid as your thought and proves the magnanimity of your naivety. your lack of understanding of manufacturing up to the marketing prove your I'll judgment on a matter that is serious. trivialising issues and trying to make them petty while they are delicate. know let me educate you Mr school leaver, assuming you have a product like jelly and the cost of producing one of is #50 if we add the cost of #3 to one of that product it becomes #53 each and again 72 in a carton so that maths and see how much you have produced these product. then how much will it cost you to bring them to the market. manufacturer will want get their money back and even more for profit. so you and I will have to pay more for a product. that means the extra that should be used for other item will be used to pay son and to cover other important costs. do you now understand how inflammation goes now kid?

Thanks for insult, however I will not go in your direction.

Mr question is how is 2naira a problem to me buying quality product viz -a-viz buying fake product at less than 50 naira. Your analysis is a case of penny wise pounce foolish.
Is it not better for me to buy original phone charger that will function perfectly, protect my phone from damage and last me 3years for 1000naira than to buy your fake cheap phone charger that may damage my phone, will not function properly and will get spoil within months of purchasing it for 500 naira?

Oga have you answer the other question I raised concerning the authenticity of the memo considering the fact that many of us are addicted to production and consumption of fake things including fake news, may be when that point is accertained, we can continue our discussion on the importance of kicking fake and adulterated product out of market by all means necessary. Thanks.

This is not about manufacturer alone, it is about public safety and it also protect manufacturer.

If I was a manufacturer, I will be glad to comply with that 2naira holograms when I'm very sure it will reduce the chance of my product been adulterated especially when we are all aware that half of goods in Nigeria are adulterated. It is a win win situation and the manufacturer is likely to gain the market share lost to adultrators.
What I think we should be concern is how genuine this programe is? Will corruption in government sector not defeat the good intension of this policy?

If u have been a victim of fake product or close to victim of fake product including drugs and home untilities that has claimed the life of innocent soul or done an irreversible damage, u will not be saying this.

My brother the thing tire me oooo?!!! How on earth will people protest against certifying authentic from fake in today's Nigeria where everything is almost fake.

What we are suppose to care about now is successful implementation of that policy with allowing corrupt importers and SON staff to abusive the programme. I'm very sure this is what will happen.
