This is so sad, to think that most of these people in power enjoyed free education and scholarships ... it's really a pity.. I think they need to report these people to someone higher... They should also insist on paying directly into TSA and not any account of the university...

Op, actually we didn't stage a protest like taking to the streets. We had a sit-in. A very peaceful protest. Help us before these guys make me dropout. I may be the one to treat you in 4 year's time

The students of the Faculty of Clinical Science has a woeful history of staying out of protest against the school when there is a perceived form of injustice to student(s).

Closest reference : #FreeMote campaign.

You guyz voluntarily stood out of the protest. Quite funny you beg for public sympathy and support now.

1.There was no such thing as free education in the past at university level.

2.There were scholarships, but students still had to hustle for them (First time one of my elder relations saw Lagos in his life was as a young intending university student coming to write exam for Shell scholarship).

3.In 2009...FG promised 3 trillion for universites. In 2013...FG said they could not pay the 3 trillion. In 2014...the price of oil, our major earner crashed....you expect this govt to spend N3 trillion out of 8 trillion just on universites?

A country where freedom of expression is not guaranteed .It was a peaceful protest for Christ sake!
freedom of expresssion guaranteed
freedom after however is not
Now I know why most students covered there faces while protesting. The news would've been "ui students expelled for protesting against the hike in fees".

Well, I wouldn't say you're wrong. That didn't apply to all of us though. Some of us came out willingly.

There was no such thing as free education? You're definitely not a Nigerian.

Free education as a concept existed mostly at primary and secondary school during the period of 1960's and 1970's....

I went to university in Nigeria, and I certainly paid fees......

Plus, education is not really free...something has to be paid...and since our taxes are not high enough to sustain free education, or our school fees....we pay in the form of IMF loans.
